So I’m full of caffeinated optimism right now. I’ve started learning something called Anime Studio Pro, and really what I need to do is start making some simple test animation projects. Trouble is all the ideas and visions I have keep going really complex and then I get overwhelmed. I’m not great at thinking of small things to do and being inspired to do them. I’d love to create something short and simple for someone, whether it’s useful or just a cool created thing.

Things I need to practice –

    – create and rig a character – this can be drawn or also I can use photos. It’s a bit like making a 2D puppet that can then be re-used for multiple animations
    – making a 20-30 second story, maybe 1 scene.
    – make a longer 1 min story with scene chages?
    – I can add audio recordings to the animation as well, voice or music.

What I’d like to get ideas to convey short simple messages with animation, and then actually create it. Right now I have that huge blank canvas feel of unlimited potential, and it’s a bit much.

So ideas with human/animal/other characters doing/saying X with something happening. I could take a bit of audio you are recording and have a character say it.

    thanks!

Wow, this certainly is gonna open up some creative potential for your future eCourse creations.

Wondering if you can deliver a simple lesson in 60 seconds.

    A technique.
    A mindset.
    A philosophy.
    A practice.

    Could be a breath practice.
Could be how to find the magic when you’re in the muck.

Something simple that relates to your favourite topic ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Bradley, yes coming up with short simple things is surprisingly hard, especially in 60 seconds, even my first idea is too long..! Some good prompts though, appreciate it. Karryn will send you a mail too

    Awesome!

I also just found this great animation tool last night. I reckon it’s gonna help a lot of you course creators whip up some tasty animation explainer videos. In your case, it could be useful for creating super quick mockups to test out ideas/concepts before going all-in with an idea in Anime Studio Pro. Check it out! http://powtoon.com

Speaking of animation, I had my first run-in with creating animation videos recently. I used the new Character Animator app that comes with the newest version of Adobe After Effects.

Once you meet the UCSE5000 at Funnelle Caves you’ll experience my creation.

Using Character Animator I was able to map my facial movements to the character to quickly and easily bring it to life.

I won’t offer up any spoilers as I don’t want to ruin the surprise ๐Ÿ˜›

This is exciting. If we get some animators and tools that make animation easier the possibilities really open. I am looking forward to seeing your creation Andy and see what you are creating Catherine!

Looking forward to seeing what you did Andy!

Reminds me of something called Facerig

    Really helpful links too ๐Ÿ™‚

I uploaded a video a year ago just showing my version of a ball animation (I turned it into a cat-ball) – no sound on this one yet. Since then I’ve done another few experiments but really only just at the beginning. I do really enjoy it though!

When I first got VideoScribe, I made a Fiverr gig offering to do short animations (~20 seconds, up to 35 words per $5 gig) mostly so I had to practice using the tool. I paid for my lifetime license and got really good at using the tool for creating (semi-animated) whiteboard videos. Was a fun “hobby” until other things took over my “spare” time.

And feel free to ping me if you still need ideas for shorts.

I’ve just worked out a simple video about Grounding would be a nice place to start – I can do something with a person, a tree, and a creature with a short message.

Thanks for the tips and ideas! I had a looked at VideoScribe too

Oh man I cannot wait to get started with some of this tech stuff. Love that you’re playing with these animation ideas @catherine_wildf.

I saw the PowToon deal on AppSumo but since that place is always persuading me to part with my cash for another awesome shiny biz tech tool, I restrained myself and didn’t buy. Now I’m wishing I did! Can’t wait to see what animations you create.
