So, I’ve already created two versions of this video, but I think it’d be good to get a final version done. Here is the 2nd draft video:

This is incredibly close to what I’m going to create with my next recording I just need to get the final recording! 🙂 So instead of 1 month how about one week

    @bradleytmorris: I’m starting this challenge

Wow @Jonathan it’s such an inspiration to see yer progress. This here video looks amazin. Not sure if yer lookin for any feedback but one thing I noticed is when you were playing the single notes the sound volume seemed a fair bit quieter than the volume of yer speaking voice. Did you notice that too? Keep up the great momentum and the great work Jonathan!

Not until you picked it up I didn’t 🙂

Thank you Ranger Boss Lady 🙂 I’m working to see if I can create a clearer tone with my guitar instead of just a Direct Line in, so that the volume works nicely in tandem with my voice!

I was working on the Audio part of GSM today, (and did actually edit this video further to improve audio) but to save myself some time, I’m gonna be re-recording (hence the challenge) that way I can get that final polish that came with re-recording a video 🙂

I don’t understand why you crop you video so we don’t see the top of the guitar?

Here is a picture to show what I mean 🙂

Because as I mentioned on my other thread, the original camera angle for that camera was meant to be a square, but in editing I decided to change it to the above as it fit much nicer in the long run, however this of course didn’t work quite as nicely with the weird cropping that’s occurred, it’s not a crop I’ve done it’s the edge of my camera shot 🙂

@jonathan@jstewartmusic.com For the first time I don’t understand your explanation. 🙂 Can try to be more clear, so also I can understand you 🙂

And will you change it, so we see the whole guitar ind the future videos, when you zoom in?

The video of my hand are a different camera. That camera was designed to be used with a small square video with the top of my headstock cut-out.

However when editing the video I decided to change how I shared the camera angle, and it is now what you see above.

You don’t need two cameras to do that, you can make a copy of the video where you talk and play and then zoom in and then crop it.

See the print screen how you can activate the crop function in Premiere Pro.

I knew of that option however, once zoomed in it’ll be very low quality video as once you zoom in beyond 100% you get something called artifacts, as there are not enough pixels on the camera so it has to guess what it looks like.

The quality degrades vastly, adding the second video requires minimal more effort but the returns are far greater as I can line them up using synchronise clip and then use the cut tool to divide them up.

The quality gains far outweigh the work it takes to press record 🙂 as I just use my phone which is good enough for what I wish to show and the quality is high enough for it to look professional.

How’s progress on your eCourse going @xbobby Ive see a lot of  your comments on other people’s posts, I’d love to see and hear more about what you’ve been doing on your journal! You’re so kind in giving your feedback to us, don’t get to distracted to get your own stuff done 🙂

Okay you know best – have a nice day 🙂

But if 1080p HD = The size for the zoom with guitar and zoom down to 720p HD is the size where you talking it could be a way to solve that challenge.

Possible, although once a video is 1080p going down in size doesn’t make that much difference, it’s something to consider and experiment with perhaps 🙂

I’m just someone who prefers having more control over what I’ve recorded so by having a secondary camera, It also means I have two recordings – so if one messes up then I have a spare xD

It is always good to train two cameras because it gives your possibility to also work with to different pictures of you and it also gives you the possibility to make a video where you talk with another person lather, and that is also a good skill to learn.

My thought was not too make the process more difficult for you; my only thought was to give you the inspiration to make all your videos faster and better.

I will now follow your process in the future, but I will not give you more advice then I have given you already. I think that you need a lot of peace to all the many things you are working with right now.

I wish you good luck; you are a good eCourse fighter 🙂

Oh @jonathan I love the close-up on the guitar!  It really does add some visual variety, and enable me to see up close what you’re doing with your fingers.  Very helpful!  I know you’re running into roadblocks and getting all kinds of suggestions.  Keep fighting for it, though.  As @xbobby says – you are a good eCourse fighter!  Nice work.
