Hello everybody!
I am working on http://www.tutorialdojo.com and this is my progress log. I should have started this weeks ago! I just finished figuring out what topics I want to cover in my course and I am now arranging my outline. I have secured my domain name and am working on a logo as well. I am working to finish my outline and mood board before meeting up with my Adventure buddy today! (7/27/2016) I will provide more info on my progression next week!
Same bat time, same bat channel!

All I need now is a mini-fridge and I could LIVE in this room!- This reply was modified 7 years, 7 months ago by Elijah Powell.

August 5, 2016 at 7:01 pm #28842Wooohooo. I couldn’t help but have a HUGE grin on my face. Thanks for the picture and studio tour Elijah. I know how pumped I was when we first got the studio set up. It was a dream come true. With all your talents, I can’t wait to see and experience what you create. Congratulations for GSD’ing (getting shit done)!
August 6, 2016 at 5:14 am #28854Good work on the studio Elijah!
A little tip (not sure if it’s helpful or not but wanted to share anyway) — I found that getting that green screen as smooth and wrinkle free as possible really helped when it comes to chroma keying in the editing process. Find ways to pull it tight, iron away creases; anything like that you can do really helps later on.
Hope that helps!
🙂August 6, 2016 at 8:13 am #28862Thanks, Lisa! I am going to iron it. I was so excited to get it in the mail I put it up right away just to see how it fit the background stand and how much room it will take up! I am going to iron it before I start filming or get it dry cleaned. I am not sure how this is supposed to be laundered but I see it getting a lot of use very soon! Thanks for the suggestions! I may need to find something like some sand bags to tighten it at the bottom. I am just so excited about how good the quality of this green screen is! I got it for about $21 on Amazon! Here is the link if anyone needs it! Green Screen from Amazon

I have started my mood board for Tutorial Dojo and I have also pulled out the old Kung Fu movies to get some ideas! The mood board is on pinterest. Here is the link:

August 8, 2016 at 11:36 am #28904I love the tagline Elijah. “Earn your black belt in Photoshop!” So good. So fun. I’m sold. I’m ready!
HiiiiYa!
August 8, 2016 at 6:56 pm #28925Elijah, that is super! I’m so happy to see you making such great progress! Love the mood board. The Japanese interiors are beautiful. Â I can totally see you green screening on these!
August 9, 2016 at 1:39 am #28932Hey Elijah – Awesome moodboards. This is gonna be such a kick ass course! And great job on the logo – I love the look and feel of it and the tagline too.
Maybe it’s just me but my only feedback would be that, for me, the ‘J’ in dojo is getting a little lost. I thought it was a ‘t’ when I first glanced at it – but then I’m not familiar with the martial arts world and ‘dojo’ isn’t in my everyday vocabulary, so I doubt someone who is familiar with it would have that issue. Still, I wonder if there’s a way to give it a little more definition? What do you think?
So cool to see this imagery coming through in your materials. I’m so bowled over by the awesome themes that people here keep coming up with!
🙂
August 9, 2016 at 3:30 am #28934Thanks, Everybody for the kind words! Yikes! I see what you are saying, Lisa! It does look a little like a “T” after looking at it again! I am going to punch it up a little to see if that will help! I like the feel of the letter itself but maybe if I make it a little bigger it won’t get lost! Thank you for the suggestion!
August 10, 2016 at 9:42 am #28982This is so fantastic and inspiring Elijah! Â I am just now embarking on Camp Medias so it helps me get primed from when I get to the mood board part. Â You quickly passed over it, but I couldn’t help notice that you have a Hulk poster that looks like one I used to have. Â Hulk has always been one of my favourites.
Your ecourse also looks like a no brainer to take. Â The title/tagline is so clear and easy to understand what you are teaching. Â I hope I can find one that clear.
I can’t wait to see what fun you have with your new green screen! Â Thanks for providing the link!
August 14, 2016 at 8:18 am #29123Thanks Akasha! You will find your title and tagline! When you do find it, it gives you so much motivation to keep pushing forward! If you need help we are all here to help each other! I have learned so much since I started and the community is amazing! I look forward to seeing what you come up with very soon!
