I just finished the Basecamp module. I must say that I am loving this version SO MUCH! Maybe it is the need to finish a module to get to the next spot, I don’t know, but I LOVE the format. OK – I have been thinking about what I plan on giving up, really looking at where my time wasters are, what are things that I get lost in. My two big ones are scrolling through my phone social media aps and working on a textile project in front of the tv. The first one is a mindless fidget habit that is easy to break – I have special ring tones for calls I can’t miss (kids, work, etc). I turn on the volume and put my phone across the room. Too far away to mindlessly grab but close enough to get when needed. Kind of like the phone in the kitchen when I was growing up! The second one I think I need to move to the end of the day – those projects need to be hands off until this work is done. I can lose a whole day making something, and because I am being productive, it doesn’t feel like a time waster.
Those are the two I will focus on for now and I will track if that makes a difference.
On to the next level!!!
@cristin_olafsson so glad you’re loving the upgrade! We feel pretty darn happy about it ourselves.
Our goal is for YOU (all of you) to succeed with getting to the top. Glad you’re getting those little dopamine rushes when you finish each task and checkpoint.
Fantastic time-wasters you’re deciding to curb. May it be a productively fun year for you!!
Special ring tones for calls you can’t miss! That’s a great idea. I’m gonna do it too 🙂 I also really relate to feeling like I’m being productive because I’m working on other projects. Problem is I am working on about 10 projects at the moment, so none of them are getting completed! This is the one I’ve set aside time commit to, though, mainly because I’ve been kicked in the butt by our wise course leaders.
Glad you’re scheduling your success with this course @sssheely your Future Self is thanking you for dedicating yourself to the adventure ahead.
For me, it helps to have specific days, dedicated to wearing specific hats.
For example, my Monday, Wednesday, Friday are 100% focused on Great eCourse Adventure from AM until my tasks are done for the day. That gives me space on Tuesday, Thursday and part of Saturday for other projects and clients.
So thankful for the webinar videos! I missed the first two and I am so glad I blocked the time off this afternoon to watch them – SO MUCH INFORMATION!
So Progress – all caught up and awaiting the release of the next module on Monday. I have a book full of notes and thoughts and my journal is filling up. I am super excited!
Heya @cristin_olafsson just checking in on Campers and saw a real full journal of notes and thoughts laying around of yours and ready to hear another entry to catch us up with your progress. We are mighty excited to see what wants to be created from those inspirations!
