    Hey, guys:

So, as I mentioned on the Challenge Page, I decided to jump in and start a station to experiment with audio content creation using anchor.fm.

I started immediately and included a link to my station there. BUT, the app had a glitch and I was unable to work with it on Day #4. I contacted anchor folks who were super nice and helpful but, they did have an IOS issue and had to fix it which kept me from publishing daily as planned for a few days.  Then, when I redownloaded it as advised by the nice anchor people, it seems I had a completely new account instead of the one I had recorded for the first 3 days.

    Anywhooooo

I recreated the first three episodes and now have added two more shows for a total of 5. I plan to continue a daily broadcast and am now thinking harder about the content and topics I want to include and maybe some branding to add as well. Further, I am thinking of taking the next step and turning the broadcasts into a podcast. What I’m talking about so far does encompass topics included in my first two e-courses but, for now, the broadcast focuses on “everything business and content.”

Here’s the new link for you if you have a sec or interest to listen in.

I’m surprised how hard it is to write a tiny script for a daily scoop but, so far I am enjoying the process, expanding my skills, and trying to provide valuable content for potential listeners.

    I’m calling my broadcast: MIX/SIZZLE&SHAKE

Thanks for the new challenge and I’m actually looking forward to making new episodes and learning to perhaps create a podcast as well in this experiment. I’m definitely going outside my comfort level, once again, but I find it’s not as scary for me after only a few episodes as video-making seems to be.

I also plan to complete my mini-course challenge (credit or not) as I fell off the mountain and into a deep hole with a family member death that has had an overwhelming impact on my life lately. I’m trying very hard to surface, guys and dolls, so I look forward to climbing the mountain with all of you, again!

    Take care.

Your voice and passsion is bouyant, uplifting!

I am so sorry for your loss. I’ve experienced many in my life and now how all consuming it can be at times. I wish you feel supported and loved during these heart-wretching and sometimes painful times.

I commend you also for coming back to the mountain and putting out your gift!

Awesome job with the station Sue-ann! You have a natural talent for voice/radio. Keep it up!

I’ve found that with anchor, the key is to network and connect with other anchor users.. If you listen to other shows and call in to stations, chances are they will check out your stuff. It’s all about the interactivity 😉

Sorry for your loss – hang in there! You got this 🙂

@sue-ann – I’m happy to see you here, sorry about the loss.  I listened to those first podcasts and I enjoyed your passion and positivity.  I love your sense of ambition!  You are such a prolific writer that I’m now feeling a bit intimidated by how hard you say it is to write a script for your daily scoop.  I haven’t written my first one yet so still have to motor over that hill…

You can do this! I enjoyed the posts you wrote and know you can carry it over to radio. Maybe start there. Take baby steps…that’s what I’m doing…and you’ll get there. I find it easier to talk on audio than on video for some reason. Maybe less self-conscious! Lol And, in other great news, I had  not one but two AWESOME comments on my broadcast from Mark Schaefer on Twitter. He’s huge and I was so thrilled he even listened at all, let alone commenting to me so favorably about the show. I did refer to one of  his posts in the “Business Grit” episode!! You can do 10 quick episodes…I know it:) Best, Sur-Ann

    @andyfreist

Your comment made my day—and whole weekend too, Andy!! Thanks:)

I jumped  to 57 claps!! Haha whatever that indicates:)

Do you know if you can create a recurring  soundbit and add to like beginning or end of each show, by any chance?

    Thanks again, Andy!!

    Hey, everyone…

Well, I’ve accomplished a radio broadcast called MIX/SIZZLE&SHAKE and have pretty consistently produced my shows for the challenge. Also, had some nice comments and input for which I am very grateful!

I’m thinking of continuing this experiment as a way to re-purpose some content I have already created in other forms and to hone my speaking and teaching skills and possibly to attract new audiences for my work.

I’m also thinking about actually making a podcast from this, as well, but haven’t yet made it that far. I have been researching how and what to use to make them and it seems Libsyn and Blubrry are the top two picks…any input from podcasters in the know is welcome…

Well, I’m so pleased to give you this link to my latest show which is either show #13 or maybe 14..haha…I’m a little confused…but still smiling my way along! Thanks for another great challenge:) Take care, Sue-Ann

@sue-ann – Thanks for nudging me forward.  I’ll credit you as a major motivator when I was ready to back out of this challenge.  Hearing your broadcasts in your positive and peppy voice, together with your encouragement and confidence in me – it made a difference.  I’m so pleased that you’re making this into a regular consistent habit, and that you’ve received some encouraging responses already.  Woohoo!!!

I’m not a podcaster in the know, but when I created episodes in Anchor I just clicked, “Yes, make this into a podcast” and my Healthcaring podcast went live on Apple Podcasts earlier today.  I’ll be interested to hear what anyone else has to say about the “best” place to make a podcast – but for me it was a no-brainer to do what was right there in front of me.  I’m relieved to see that I can actually delete episodes and change titles and descriptions and photos after the fact (It’s pretty much a mess in there right now and I’m thinking about how I’d like to better package the content I’ve created.)  But now I don’t have to worry about the launch and go live anymore.  It’s already out there and I can continue to work and refine as I go along.  Woohoo!!!

I’ll go and check out your latest podcast sometime later today – when I’m not at work and sneaking time on the internet!
