Hey all! I’ve soft launched my ecourse on Dreaming. I’m working on some branding and copy for the course and my website and am still finishing elements of the course. When it’s a bit more solid, I’ll do the grand launch– I’m aiming for September. In the meantime, the handful of students who have taken advantage of the soft launch are already giving me great feedback and The GEA has officially paid for itself! Wahoo!

Thanks guys! I’ve already got my next ecourse in mind and can’t wait to climb to the summit again.

    Here’s the course:

The DIVINA School of Dreams and Divination

Cultivate a deep and nourishing spiritual practice by learning to work with your dreams

This is so exciting Darla!!! Congratulations for your soft launch. This is wonderful news for us and the community.

When you get through launch mode, Andy and I would love a conversation wtih you to hear about your journey up the mountain and how we might be able to make it even better the next time around. Let us know when that may work. For now, enjoy supporting your students!

Way to go. It looks beautiful. Would love to know how you liked working with Teachable?

Hi Bradley– seriously your course was fantastic and I would love to talk to you more about what worked well and what didn’t work as well– I’ll get in touch via this thread in a few weeks when I’ve processed it all 🙂 But all in all you guys are doing something amazing and it came at just the right time. I will be revisiting this process for future courses. I had no course in mind at all when I started but now I’m almost impatient to get done with this current course so I can start the next one (Aries moon for you) haha.

And Teachable is great. The educational emails they send to their instructors are WHOA. Very informative and helpful. I do wish Teachable integrated more easily with an existing site or that it was easier (like drag and drop) to customize the landing page. I upgraded to the Pro plan ($99/month) that is supposed to let you do this but it was impossible unless you are a developer, so I quickly downgraded again. I’d love to host my entire site on Teachable so I can focus on the educational aspect of my brand (automatic authority) but that just isn’t possible yet. I am hoping it is something Teachable may offer in the future though.

Switching gears, if you all are ever in Costa Rica, my husband is an adventure guide. Send me a note! He takes small groups on a coast-to-coast hike through the jungle using ancient indigenous trails . . . *evil grin*

Darla, that is so amazing! Congratulations! It is inspiring to see people actually getting their courses out into the world.

Yes please Darla. We would love to know the good, the bad, the ugly and the other whenever you have the time to share your experience.

Glad you’re digging Teachable. We just had a meeting with their Chief Marketing Officer and all of Teachable now knows about the Great eCourse Advneture. We are establishing a joint venture partnership with them and will be getting plenty of extra support and resources from them, as well as some deals.  We passed along your feedback and they said it’s something that’s been coming up and they’re working on a version of it that’ll be drag and drop simplicity.

They are keen to have some creative brainstorming sessions with us on how to improve what they’ve got and add more of the features that would allow our students (you) to create mega awesome creative courses. So if you have more feedback on Teachable, let us know and we’ll include it in our coversations with them.

As for Costa Rica. I’ve always wanted to go (ever since hearing it has Monkeys). I will definitely look you up when that day comes. I love adventures (especially when there’s monkeys involved)

Congratulations again. Super duper pumped for you!

@Brad, I’d be really excited to hear more about the JV with Teachable – I looked at their stuff and it didn’t do half of what I wanted so I discarded the idea and went for the Social Learner on WP idea. BUT the more I look into it the more of a huge development and maintenance undertaking it feels (I know I could do it, but it would be so much easier if I didn’t have to!). And part of me is craving a middle ground, done for me option. Would love to be involved in that creative brainstorming process somehow…

    🙂

    Hey Darla,

Wanted to check in and see how things are going with your course and students?

It’d also be wonderful when you get time to receive your feedback about your experience and how we can best improve the mountain journey for all future people to join. (if inspired to write a testimonial, we’d love that too).

Please give us an update when you get some time. Look forward to helping you on your second ascent when ready.
