@bradleytmorris – what do you mean letting the bottom of the laptop breathe?
September 4, 2017 at 7:39 pm #50140@bradleytmorris – So you’re suggesting Akasha sign up her laptop to participate in one of your meditations this week?
🙂
@mysticsparkling – GOOD LUCK!!!
September 10, 2017 at 11:24 pm #50635LOL! ! Â I’ve been putting my fan directly at the back and bottom of the laptop but it has just been so hot. Â I have never experienced it so hot here and for so long! Â Usually it will only get as hot as the mid 80’s for one day and then go back to being cool again. Â We even got up into the 100’s here. Â Our homes are not built for such heat which makes it harder handle.
Thanks for the advice Bradley and I will try it tomorrow.
I got so fed up with the whole thing I had to walk away for awhile so as not to injure my computer. Â It is so not it’s fault.
September 12, 2017 at 10:53 pm #51244OK at last the video is up at Vimeo. Â Here is the link; I hope it works:
the password is: Â tigerpaws
What I figured out doing this is that I want to take an in-person class on the basics of editing and posting videos in different places.
I learned that Brownie is best for introductions and getting excited and animated about something and making things fun. Â He is only good for 2-3 takes so everything has to be ready to be filmed before he says anything. Â The beginning shot was his second take. Â after the 3rd one he was done. Â He did do about 15 takes of the description and I finally said forget it. Â I ended up going with his second take which was just a test take and not really set up properly. Â So no more test takes, when he starts we shoot it for real.
I also realized that Brownie is not good for the long descriptions of things. Â Were I to film this again, Brownie would be doing the introductions and stuff and I would be explaining how to do it as well as demonstrating. Â He just doesn’t like having to stay on script.
I realize the end result is all choppy. Â the beginning and the demos were shot with an iphone while the intros were filmed via photo booth because I needed Brownie to be looking into the camera and it just wasn’t working in the long term to have the camera person motioning me to fix where Brownie was. Â It was too frustrating and photo booth was the only thing I had in a pinch where I could see what the camera was seeing.
I did 13 takes of the better way to describe how to do it and just gave up trying to use it. Â FYI it is to say to turn to the left for the first 3 times then turn to the right the second three times.
I have a much deeper respect for actors who have to repeat scenes or do the same play every night. Â It is so hard to maintain the same emotion and energy take after take.
I got very hoarse at the end. Â I definitely plan on re-doing it after I have had a very very long break from it.
I hope you enjoy watching the video. Â It really is a fun, quick, and effective charm. Â I’ve used it for years.
September 30, 2017 at 12:07 am #56414@mysticsparkling – I’M SO HAPPY YOU WERE ABLE TO FINISH AND POST THE VIDEO! Â So sorry I didn’t respond until now. Â I watched it when you first posted it and I felt so relieved that you had finally tied up the challenge. Â Woohoo!!!
It sounds as though you learned a lot of valuable things about the best ways to incorporate Brownie into future videos. Â I’m glad you were able to share this. Â It’s not a strategy I’ve heard of before, and it looks it could be really effective as a way to soothe and refocus.
Give yourself a big ol’ pat on the back for all that you’ve accomplished!
Incidentally, how’s your computer doing?  I hope it’s had some time to cool off.  Maybe your computer needs to try the Six Times Charm 🙂
