Yes Mountain Buddy, we really do need to reconnect. I have missed our chats and mutual insights. I am currently working through Act 1 of green screen magic. Lets chat soon. Does Monday at 8pm your time work?August 23, 2018 at 7:04 am #80466August 23, 2018 at 11:47 am #80475

Thank you kindly @rangerbosslady Love s’mores so very very much.
My daughter moves out to university (college) soon. I’m going to nab her wall and do a shed load of green screen filming before younger daughter moves into the room. So hopefully you see as much of me as you used to.September 6, 2018 at 5:39 am #81111
Okay. I am working through the ‘Blow away the fog’ challenge. Just finishing 3/4 of the blogs that I committed to. I have also begun to have some ideas for my online course and need to do a bit more mountain climbing and going through the different stages again to refine them.
I’ve made the decision to take a sabbatical from my birth work next year. Not sure if I’ve updated that fact here. I need to do some serious writing and get my courses done.
I’ve been invited to take my doula training course to Berlin next May. That will be my first international course. I have two more to run here in the UK before the end of the year. They are slowly booking up. I had some successs updating my face to face course FB ad, but for some reason my brain has frozen with how to make a new ad for the reproductive justice retreat. Hey ho. It will come back to me.
My Mighty Networks community is growing slowly and that makes me smile. I look forward to looking back this time next year to see where it is. I’ve begun putting my free eCourse in the courses section. That needs a day, so I’ll popping that in the calendar soon.
My eldest daughter moves out in a few weeks to do her Masters at university, so that’s my deadline for getting all the scripting for my online multiple mamas course done. That will aid my daily writing goals.
I’ve identified another writing spot. I will begin to use a members club. One friend is a member, so I can go as his guest. Another is one of the managers, and he’s said that he’ll arrange a guest pass for me if I want to be there when the first friend isn’t on site.
So.. getting there. The groove is coming back. The secret, for me, is deadlines and no school holiday lolSeptember 6, 2018 at 10:03 am #81127

Congratulations on the international training 🙂

That’s my secret too!
I look forward to seeing you continue up the mountain!September 6, 2018 at 1:11 pm #81147
@mars – I’m so glad to see you going gangbusters again!
How is your experience with your community at Mighty Networks? I still haven’t committed anywhere and I had started investigating other options for building a community. I’d love anything you have to share – good or bad.
Otherwise, your move to take a year off from being a doula is surprising to me! That being said, I’m glad you can do it and considering how much you’re able to get done while being a doula, you will be unstoppable once you’ve got a clear schedule.
Deadlines. That’s a novel idea for finishing an ecourse. I’m afraid of making commitments because there are little explosions all the time. Lately my most productive moments are when I’ve got downtime at work. It gives me the motivation to work ahead and carve out uninterrupted blocks of time.
Kudos, my friend, and welcome back!September 6, 2018 at 1:21 pm #81151
Hey gorgeous @laurakoller
So, my wee community on MN is growing slowly and so far, I like it. I think people may be a little worried about committing to another online forum, but the ones that are there are starting to share. I have also begun to do deals with birth educators that I know and negotiating discounts on their courses for my members. Oh yes… building it one discount at a time.
I’m 51 @laurakoller and perimenopausal. I was late learning about menopause. I went to a workshop and this is what stuck with me…
- Me – looking after me and embracing personal selfishness
- No – saying no to things and not taking on extra
- Pause – take time out if you can. If you don’t find a way to pause, your body will give you a medical pause
So… next year is all about ME. I’m saying no to births (except repeat clients) and to unrewarded work. It’s time to hit the pause button and just travel, run courses and have fun.September 6, 2018 at 5:34 pm #81159
I love the lessons and wisdom you are gleaning from your age and experience. I want to cheer you on to think of YOU and say NO and take many loooong pauses to enjoy and savour.
I have a handful of older wiser friends all settling into the same kind of way of being… enrichening our lives and giving their easy counsel of humour and wisdom to me as needed.
I also love how you know yourself and trust yourself to plow ahead at full speed in creation mode and also let go and stop other aspects of your work. You have spent so many years in service and learning from putting others first… it seems perfect to me for you to be where you are now!September 6, 2018 at 7:34 pm #81161
@mars Fantastic News with Berlin, and good that you find the secret about deadlines for you – Good luck – I wish you the best 🙂September 7, 2018 at 7:14 am #81166
Thanks @davidj Had to make some changes to a retreat that I’m running, ie scale it down as the people who desperate to come, weren’t actually that desperate. So I was feeling a bit crap this morning. Then I saw your message. Thank you. Totally turned my mind around.
So I have the fourth blog now at the forefront of my mind. So will work on that tonight and tomorrow. Then the challenge would be complete.September 8, 2018 at 4:06 am #81243
