Hi Adventurers! I’ve been climbing other mountains (literally and figuratively). It’s been extremely challenging and rewarding at the same time.

Feels good to be back on this mountain with a new challenge to boot! I really like the accountability factor and “anyone can do it” feeling of this challenge!

I created a new 30 minute movie concept, made by an entrepreneur for entrepreneurs, and have been testing it live. It’s a lot of PR work, which I don’t enjoy. I also wrote a manual with 10 Key Actionable Knowledge Nuggets, so I’m going to [attempt] to split the movie into 10 parts to create a short video series. I’ll work on it every Friday until the finish line.

    See y’all on the mountain.
    🙂 Kathy

Woohoo! Sounds exciting — the offline adventures and the video project, both!

(And I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels like this challenge is coming at just the right time. 🙂 )

Let me know how the rest of us can help support you.

AWESOME Kathy. Stoked to have you back on the mountain and can’t wait to see the video series when it’s ready for us (on May 7th)!!

    Welcome back to this mountain.

Thank you Dr. Wayne! Excited to be on this challenge with you.

My top struggle is that I’m too close to the subject (me & the content!!)… so if you see anything that can be edited or improved, feel free to offer your opinion (I love feedback & won’t take it personally).

“Woohoo” sums it up. We teach best from experience. See you on the mountain, and please reach out if I can lend a hand.

AWESOME is right, Brad! So happy to be back and ready to be on this mountain.  Thanks for the smoke signal!!!

Looking forward to the climb, and wishing you luck on your climb.

Ironically, I found a really cool golf article from my dad last night – I’ll email it to you. It fits in with your course intention.

    Challenge Update:
Friday was my day. I dedicated 1/2 the day and had to move the other 1/2 to today to keep my promise.
I haven’t been on the mountain since November, so I pulled my notes and re-read them to focus on the BIG picture.
Reviewed some research and content that I have already created to formulate a game plan.

Today, I am creating the intro, outline and outro.
Feels good to bring this passion project to life! It’s taking shape… woo-hoo!!

    Challenge Update:

    • The meat of the course has been marinated and will be finished next Friday.
    • The theme and transformation goal is getting clearer, but not there yet.
    • My mind keeps noodling what the gamification piece will be, which I need to release.
    • The landing page is up with the core messaging. It makes sense to me, but I don’t think it’s going to resonate with others… until I refine it and add theme graphics.
      (Any feedback is appreciated!): https://www.entrepreneurthemovie.com/ecourse.html

I’m going to stay on course, not worry about the mess I’m making, and keep creating.

Great work on getting messy Kathy.

I can’t offer much feedback yet, as I don’t know what the course outline is looking like.

Once we get a clearer idea on that, we may be able to help your themefication and gamification cause  🙂

What ideas do you have so far?

Thank you! And the mess continued, but it’s getting cleaned up now, Bradley!

    Here’s my progress report (it’s taking shape… woo-hoo!!!):

1 – Made some major strategic decisions to figure out theme, gamification and pricing, along with a realistic and resourceful solution based on my Summit date of May 7:
    > Theme is going to be: Hats (A journey into time & space wearing a different hat for each lesson).
    > Gamification is going to be: Real life Scavenger Hunt to capture photo and caption for 10 challenges (users can email to me and then I’ll post in community page to save $$’s on technology for the beta test).
    > Pricing is set, but want to wait for feedback from some adventurous beta testers
    > Create a 60 min. course (Intro to course & movie, 24 min. movie, 10-2 minute videos to cover outline*, wrap up).
2 – Identified Gaps Needed (Attached PDF needs to be beautified – any design quotes happily accepted!)
3 – Committed to final stretch: Friday (4/28) = Scripting Friday (5/5) = Video Taping

    Title:
    Flipping Struggles Into Solutions:
An eCourse for Entrepreneurs ready to do their work.

*Outline (10 Struggles that will be flipped into Simple, yet Powerful Solutions):
    Showing up
    Budgeting
    Igniting Creativity
    Bouncing Back
    Systemization
    Proof of Concept
    Using Your Voice
    Selling
    Overthinking
    Defining Your Success

    Hey Kathy,

I like where this is going at the moment.

What are you using as your community? If just going with Facebook, it’ll probably be easier to just have them upload their images to the private Facebook Group, rather than having you do it.

Curious how the hats theme will show up in your visuals and videos? Love the scavenger hunt idea.

    Way to keep going!

    Hey Brad,

Thank you for the feedback and encouragement!!! I’m happy to be pushing forward.

Community is a tough one. Wary about creating and managing a FB group based on the current terrain and climate… I’m trying to integrate into current behaviors, which is why I thought 1 email at the end with the reward of them being able to ‘advertise’ who they are on a page on the website would be a quick, easy solution to increase participation #’s.

Hats are showing up for the following reasons:
I work with the ‘Business of 1’ who wears many hats – relatability
Each hat will represent a different topic – variety & transition cue
Each hat will translate into a visual icon on the scavenger hunt – retention

Looking forward to hearing any and all thoughts – Thank you, and hope your climb is going well on this challenge!

    🙂 Kathy

The hats idea sounds great Kathy. Are you gonna have a different hat on for each video too? That could add an element of fun.

I’m thinking the name and tagline also need to be examined.

The name “Struggles to Solutions” doesn’t say much. And the tagline is the same. “For entrepreneurs who are ready to do the work.” What work are you referring to?

Maybe write these out again (1 clear, concise sentence for each):

What is the BIG problem these entrepreneurs are having right now?

What kind of entrepreneurs are you marketing to (online, shop owners, fortune 500, etc..?)

What is your specific solution that will solve that problem?

What is the specific, tangible end transformation they’ll achieve by completing your course?

What is the vibe or personality of your course?

How does the “Hat theme” fit into this vision and how will it be used in your videos/audios, etc…?

This’ll help reign it in more   🙂
