THE STRUGGLE IS REAL……And REAL WORTHY.

@bradleytmorris and/or Andy, if you don’t want to wade through this, the main thing is that this course, your mentoring and modeling honesty, courage, commitment and authenticity, and the coaching calls–thank you too Karryn–have helped so much in the “but I get up again” part of this “Progress Note To Self.” So thumbs up and namasté!

Sing it with me….”I get knocked down. But I get up again…!
    1. GETTING KNOCKED DOWN: My VA abruptly quits. Says she closing her business. She’s also my sister. Who jumped in to start a business in part to help pull me off the ledge of throwing in the towel because I was so overwhelmed and sad and weary of trying. I felt so alone and defeated in this new business creation thing. And she rallied and said “hell no! You are too good at what you do, what you have to say. Don’t stop. I’ll help.” And she did. She is a get-it-done, detail oriented kind of gal. I’m the visionary. She loves me and my visionary-ness. I love her “just do it”, ability to speak in everyday language, attention to detail-ness. It worked well for a while. She showed me a lot. Now she’s not with me and I am back on my own. Downer, Sad. A bit fearful. All my monsters start having a field day. I’m on the emotional floor again.
At first I fought it. And myself. Fought real hard to just force myself to stand and keep going.
Then I turned into the storm and just surrendered. And kept a close eye on my thoughts, my feelings, the rising and falling waves of my energy. And I decided to practice what I preach–meditate and invite Spirit to help clear up the mess of the party-gone-wrong.
    2. I GET UP. Yes. I CAN do this. I am not in the same place I was, I know things, I have skills, I have new people who I can ask for feedback, ideas, help. I am capable.
    3. I GET KNOCKED DOWN AGAIN. I jump into Aweber, hit a wall, jump back in again, craft a quick letter to the people on my list–all 41 of them including myself. I jump into Survey Monkey, hit a wall, jump back in again. I put the Survey in Aweber, hit send and wait for it. In literally a few minutes I get my first response. On a scale of 0-10 ( 0 being the least) level of interest in ANY of the topics I asked for feedback on, the response “1”, “0”, “1” and “3”. OK. Ok. It’s just 1 person. Next response was slightly more positive but still VERY bleh. Third response: no real interest indicated, but they wanted to point out that I needed to get someone to proof read, as I had misspelled words and that didn’t look good for trust in coaching competency. Then I got a 10. And another bleh, with additional comments that they don’t have time for long lessons involving lots of homework. Shit.
    4. I GET BACK UP AGAIN. I decide that I am not going to be driven or make decisions on the basis of “a list.” The people there–like on every list–are there for diverse reasons. And what the hell am I doing anyway by trying to get love from folks who don’t really get where I am coming from, much less where I am going to. Then comes a private message from a former client saying she hopes I get something off the ground because she has been wanting more of what I do for a long time.
    O.K. Now what?
    5. I have a website to get up. And no VA or web developer. The photographer comes to show me the pics she got–WOWZA! I’m excited. I go tootling around on Facebook and find a list of Divi developers. I check them out. Then I see in my news feed a Udemy course on sale from $79 to $27 giving instructions on the DIVI theme I purchased. O.K. Let’s see about this.
    6. I intend for my website to be the home of my message, my offers, my inspiration and gifts to others, and an accurate reflection of and honoring of my soul. This is kind of a big deal. And I want to get it “live” asap. Mountain gets steep again, but my climbing gear is cleaned up and I trust it.
    7. I am still shedding the skin of my old disguise–had no idea how tenacious that old mask would be to take off. Clearing out old imbedded self-limiting legacy junk. Asking for help from good folks. Kind folks. Creative folks. Enthusiastic and positive folks. Brave folks. Loving folks.
    8. Back to the Creatora Heights drawing board. TO BEGIN AGAIN.
    10. With the support of hands–visibile and invisible, and the vision of my own irrepressible spirit, I RISE.

From the Bill Moyers PBS interview of Joseph Campbell.

“Moyers: Do you ever have this sense when you are following your bliss, as I have at moments, of being helped by hidden hands?

Campbell: “All the time. It is miraculous. I even have a superstition that has grown on me as the result of invisible hands coming all the time—namely, that if you do follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in the field of your bliss, and they open the doors for you. I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.”

i TOTALLY GET WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM. I WAS RECENTLY IN A GROUP AND PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AS YOU I KEPT GETTING KNOCKED DOWN BY HAVING TO EITHER KISS BUTT TO VA’S OR IT TECH OR WEB DEVELOPERS ETC.. ANT IT COSTS A PRETTY PENNY.. I WAS IN ONE GROUP WHERE AFTER SPENDING $1300 I ONLY HAD HALF A WEBSITE AND 25% CONTENT.. SO, I WAS UNABLE TO FINISH MY TASKS EVEN THOUGH I AM A SMART BUSINESS WOMAN, HAVE DEALT WITH THIS KIND OF STUFF FOR TWENTY YEARS AND I GOT SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FED UP, THAT I AM NOW FINISHING ON MY OTHER “SIDE BUSINESS” OF HELPING PEOPLE WHO ARE JUST LIKE YOU HAVE A TWO OR THREE OPTION PACKAGE… THE FIRST ONE IS CREATING A WEBSITE FOR YOU, A BANNER, ADDITIONS ARE ALSO LOGO DESIGN, OPT IN PAGES, THANK YOU PAGES, AND A FEW MORE COOL THINGS ALL FOR A LOW PRICE UNDER $300 WITH A GROUP OF PEOPLE I KNOW. IT SHOULD BE COMPLETE IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS, SO HOLD TIGHT… KEEP PLUGGING AWAY AT YOUR CONTENT AND KNOW HELP IS ON THE WAY… OUT OF MY OWN SUFFERING FROM THE SAME THING WAS BORN/IS BEING BORN THIS NEW BIZ.. IT IS CALLED vaSummitReadyNOW.COM IT IS NOT ONLINE YET, BUT BEING COMPLETED.. AND THE WORK IS GUARANTEED TO BE DONE IN A VERY SHORT TIME FRAME TURN AROUND.. FOR THOSE OF US WHO WANT TO CREATE AND WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BACK END TECHY CRAP, JUST A TWINKLE OF OUR NOSE AND VOILA!!!! ITS DONE!

Way to be strong and persevere @sharynwa. Sherpa Steve wanted me to pass along this message:

By growing through own struggles we become strong enough to carry others through theirs’. You doing great Sharyn.
    – Sherpa Steve

When we set out on an adventure like this, with intentions like the ones we have, everything that is out of alignment has the opportunity to come to the surface to be acknowledged, let go of or cleared. Just know that any of the clearing is for your highest good and YES, you are the perfect person to figure out the best next steps.

You are the guide you’ve been waiting for 🙂

    We’re here walking with ya!

I’ve always resonated with the quote/idea that we never get faced with more than we can handle, no matter how hard it may seem. Good job with the “getting up again”.. As I’m sure youre starting to discover, it gets easier and easier. Quite simply because learning to get back up again is a skill (also known as falling gracefully) – and the only way to learn something, is to do it 😉

Thanks, @andyfreist. My daughter used to be a hunter equestrian and their falls were referred to as “unplanned dismounts.” So many times I saw riders–my baby girl included–take a hard fall, lay there until they could catch their breath again, slowly get up (checking for broken bones), limp out of the arena, take a drink (presumably of water!) and then limp back over to their horse and mount up again. To try the jump one more time. No quitting until you successfully got over at least one more hurtle. Then, well, who wants to stop when you just did something successful? The fall already drifting into the background, replaced by the satisfaction of “making it over.” If we look–and listen–we are shown how is done. No one is alone. Thanks again for your comments.

Oh my. Conditions on my part of the mountain have delayed progress. Having to focus on essential actions like complete content/videos to get website launched. Balancing work/family life. Things that take time.
    Lots and lots of time.

My clarity about my course keeps going in and out of focus. A few notable accomplishments despite frustrating delays: 1. iOgrapher equipment arrived, working and ready to be put into service. 2. Backgrounds mostly ready. Hummmmm, I am thinking about this course so much, seems like the accomplishments should reflect more progress. Guess #3. would be: I am remaining encouraging, positive and kindly behaved toward myself, even though I would LOVE to see myself making much more REAL SUBSTANTIAL PROGRESS.

Not sure how to get from here to there, but I believe anything is possible.

Way to go @sharynwa, these are all big steps. The fact that you find yourself thinking about the eCourse ALOT means it’s growing inside of you. When a mother is pregnant, she goes through the same type of process. She feels the baby growing inside of her, but she can’t force the baby to come out. You’re experiencing that too! This is your eCourse birthing process and @andyfreist and I are your eCourse Birthing Dudelas!

Where you are is perfect. If ever you need support, we’re here for you! Just ask your questions 🙂

Still making my way up the mountain–and to Ithaca. Small delay as I have had pressing matters to attend to–getting a fabulous new website ready that will be a wonderful launching pad for my e-course. Which I have re-named (another switchback, it seems): Practical Mystery Tour: How To Recognize and Collect Marvelous Treasures From The Wisdom Worlds of Body, Mind, Heart and Soul. We will be traveling to mystical and magical places within. The delights and discoveries will be truly fantastical. And extremely useful in the world of Everyday Life.
And now I’m off to the very strange land where I was born to assist mother who is sinking a little deeper into dementia. (There’s a place you don’t want to stay overly long in.) But I’ll be back and ready to put a big push on to the next checkpoint up the GEA mountain. I got my little “feathery” thing for Røde Go and will be test driving asap when I return.

    A Poem For The Journey

“As you set out for Ithaka
hope the voyage is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
    Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
angry Poseidon—don’t be afraid of them:
you’ll never find things like that on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare excitement
stirs your spirit and your body.
    Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
    wild Poseidon—you won’t encounter them
unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you.

Hope the voyage is a long one.
May there be many a summer morning when,
    with what pleasure, what joy,
    you come into harbors seen for the first time;
may you stop at Phoenician trading stations
    to buy fine things,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
    sensual perfume of every kind—
    as many sensual perfumes as you can;
and may you visit many Egyptian cities
to gather stores of knowledge from their scholars.

Keep Ithaka always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you are destined for.
But do not hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you are old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you have gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaka to make you rich.

Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey.
Without her you would not have set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.

And if you find her poor, Ithaka won’t have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
you will have understood by then what these Ithakas mean.”

Good for you @sharynwa, looking forward to seeing your new digital business temple!

Sounds like a fun direction you’re taking the course.

It’s not necessary, but I would recommend considering tightening the tagline up a bit. It’s pretty long and I think you can say what you mean with less words.

Take care of yourself and your mom and we’ll be here upon your return 🙂
