    WEEK 48:

1: What I intended for accomplishing last week:
I will continue to learn Illustrator and I will also begin to Learn Premiere Pro.
I will start to learn to make lips to my two cartoons. I will begin to make the 4 x 12 psd layers and then make them synchronize with the sounds, so they look right.

    2. How things went — the good, bad & ugly:
I have now made lips to my characters in Photoshop, 2 times, so I now have lips from the front and also from the side.
It takes a long time to make it okay, so the extra time toke I from Illustrator.

I started with Premiere Pro, it is a fantastic program to use to make a video, it is much better than Camtasia, but I will still need Camtasia, because they have the hot spot I need, so I can make interaction, so you can go from one frame in a video to another.

    3. Where I’m at now, what’s in my way & what I need?
I can see that Premiere it an imported program to learn what I want to do, with different Scenes, so I will take the whole tutorial I have. And I think it will take me 2 mounts to do. So I will not have the same time to learn Photoshop, but it is okay for now.
I need to give my character more life, so I will begin to learn all the 19 Behaviors in Character Animator, and I think I shall use the next 4 weeks to do that, and so I still have one mouth back to learn the last thing, so It will be okay.
I will also go on with the tutorials on Illustrator, and only taken the most important tutorials, and I think I can make them on 4 weeks, so I have time to Photoshop after that.

    4. What I’m going to do in the coming week:
Character Animator: Behaviors 1 of 4
    Premiere Tutorials: 1 of 8
    Illustrator 1 of 4

Wow @xbobby, I love how committed you are to learning all of the skills. What an amazing transformation this will be as you come through the other side with your completed course.

Thanks for documenting your learning journey as a way to inspire others to take the plunge into learning the tech-side of being a creative course creator on the mountain.

    WEEK 49:

1: What I intended for accomplishing last week:
Character Animator: Behaviors 1 of 4
    Premiere Tutorials: 1 of 8
    Illustrator 1 of 4

    2. How things went — the good, bad & ugly:
It takes me a long time to find the right way In Character Animator to work with Behaviors. First, shall I click on the layer where the behaviors should connect, then I go over and made the Behaviors I want, and set all the settings I want for this behavior. So I go inside tags, and find the behaviors the place on the body and activated it. After that, I go to record mode and see the behaviors work as it should, else go back to the behaviors and change it. If you forget only one thing, it doesn’t work. Character Animator is a fantastic program, but it is not an easy one to learn.
I am so glad that I have a fantastic tutorial to Premiere Pro because I will not guess, how it works if I don’t have the tutorials. But Premiere Pro is the Rolls Royce for video programs, no doubt that.
In Illustrator I have work with the pen tools this week, and it is fantastic to use this because you can take a picture and make the stroke over it, so I, when I bee good to that, can make my own cartoons.

    3. Where I’m at now, what’s in my way & what I need?
I had been a difficult week, but I have now got the point, to work with the behaviors of Character Animator, so now I am up on the horse again 🙂
I am so glad that I also learn Premiere Pro and Illustrator it gives many good possibilities, to make my video much better.
My way — Go for it 🙂

    4. What I’m going to do in the coming week:
Character Animator: Behaviors 2 of 4
    Premiere Tutorials: 2 of 8
    Illustrator 2 of 4

    WEEK 50

1: What I intended for accomplishing last week:
Character Animator: Behaviors 2 of 4
    Premiere Tutorials: 2 of 8
    Illustrator 2 of 4

    2. How things went — the good, bad & ugly:
I now begin to understand the way to work with the behaviors of Character Animators, and it is interesting to work with them. There are much more behaviors than I need, but I will learn them all before I decided, with of them I will use in my project.
In Premiere Pro I learned about how to work with text and transitions. I have always worked with the import of scenes from Character animator, but I shall rename it every time because the file name also has other information’s name I don’t need. But I find a better way, so I can drag the file from Character Animators to Premiere Pro, and I work much better.
In Illustrator, I learn to make a photograph of a vector, so I can work with them in illustrator.

    3. Where I’m at now, what’s in my way & what I need?
I have been a good week, and I only need to go to the next week’s tasks.

    4. What I’m going to do in the coming week:
Character Animator: Behaviors 3 of 4
    Premiere Tutorials: 3 of 8
    Illustrator 3 of 4

    Wow, Bo,

I just read through all of your progress log.  What a great road map for anyone wanting to get the feel of all of these animation tools? I liked how you documented some pitfalls and limitations of these tools so we don’t have to make the same mistakes too. You are a courageous learner!  Did you find a good set of tutorials for Character Animator and would you mind sharing that resource?

    Keep up the great work!

    Hi @tanyabagley
Thanks for all your good thoughts. I am impressed that you have read it all 🙂 No I have not found good tutorials with Character Animator. I have used a lot of time on Google, but I find one, and that could I have done better :-). So the only learning there are is Adobes own YouTube videos, but Ch is not easy to learn, because there are so many things you can do, and when you make mistakes it is not easy, to find the problems in the beginning. I you find good tutorials so let me know. Did you work with that program, or will you?
If you need a Buddy, so I don’t have any right now, so you are welcome to be my buddy, but I am not professional like you. Let me here from you if you need one – okay

I just love that you keep going! I have only looked at Character Animator but I really want to learn it, I have lots of animated videos I want to create. I was hoping since I had lots of experience with other Adobe things it would come easy for me … hope is good, right?

I’d like to have you for a buddy, then I can ask you about CA all the time (smile). Best of luck with your learning journey!

    Hi @bradleytmorris

YES I have reached the first 4 month’s goals 🙂

I have learned to work with Character Animator, Illustrator and Photoshop at the beginning level. I’ve also learned to work with audio in Audition and Video in Premiere Pro, so I now have the programs I want to learn at the beginning level.

I am going to the hospital on January 10th, so I will not be at the top 2 to 3 weeks after this, but I will then use the time to figure out how I want to work in the future, now that I can get the basic main programs I want to learn.

On February 1st, I will put a plan for how I want to work the next 3 months.

MY PLANNING FOR THE NEXT THREE MOUNTS:

    Hi @bradleytmorris

    WEEK 04

1: What I intended for accomplishing last week:
    Planning my next 3 mounts

    2. How things went — the good, bad & ugly:
I go pretty well. It is good to get a new focus on what I should do.
I make the long-term planning in excel, so I can see more generally when I should do what, and I also make a link to for every project to Trello, where I have specified my task on different checklist. When I do that I can work with many tasks at the same time, and I also have a week plan for on what time I do what.

    3. Where I’m at now, what’s in my way & what I need?
I have now the plan for the next three months.

I will make works around about all the complicated task I know I should do, again and again, so I can do the so fast as possible, so I don’t waste time because I don’t have found the best way to do the many task I have. I know that the best planning gives the best result.

I will also revise Illustrator, Character Animator, and Premiere Pro and Photoshop again, so I know exactly what I should do when I start to make a lesson pr. week, after the three mounts

I will also make the script for all my lessons, and how to make real lessons, so I learn a lot. Learning by doing it.

And find all the pictures I need, and make my storyboard for all the lessons.

The challenge I will take will be:
    Daily Writing (February)
    Map Out your eCourse (March)
    Script and Storyboard (April)
