@paulcj2

Here is a link to the fourth post in the series on My Deep Bucket List

I have finished the video for the Mighty Networks (MN) site I am building in anticipation of putting my eCourse there. I’m ready to upload it to my MN landing page at mydeepbucketlist.com. But there are some technical issues with MN right now.

Here is a link to the video on YouTube.

Questions: Do you think it will appeal to my audience as specified in my Community Strategy?

Also, do you think I should end it after the first call to action, or does the second round of testimony add sufficient impact to justify the length?

Your intentions for your community look awesome and aligned. I love it.

Curious what the tech issue is you’re having? Their customer support is fast and helpful (in my experience). Have you reached out to them for support yet?

    Thanks for asking, @bradleytmorris

The tech issue is that the instructions in their training videos have gotten ahead of where their pages are. Here is the thread. I’m still waiting for Brian to set up the screen share.

    Paul to Aubra December 11,

This training video on customizing your landing page does not sync with your current version of your host management system. Please advise.

    Audra to Paul,

Totally understand—the video currently shows you how to set up our other landing page option (called the “Community” template). We’ll be creating another video soon to show off how to set up the other type of landing page! In the meantime, let me or my colleague Brian Vu (copied here) know if you have any specific questions about how to set things up. We’re happy to help!

    Paul to Audra and Brian,

I’m producing a welcome video for the landing page. I don’t see a way of installing that at: https://my-deep-bucket-list.mn.co/settings/landing-page

    How do I do that?

    Audra to Paul & Brian

If your video is hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, or Facebook, you can use the + symbol on a new line to paste in the link to your video and embed it into your landing page. I’ve attached a screenshot of what that will look like!

    Paul to Audra & Brian,

Thanks, Audra. But I don’t see anything like what’s in your screen shot on this page: https://my-deep-bucket-list.mn.co/settings/landing-page

Many more messages on the substance of the video, then…

    Paul to Audra & Brian,

I still don’t see how to add the video to my landing page. The icon you showed earlier still does not appear at: https://my-deep-bucket-list.mn.co/settings/landing-page

    Audra to Paul & Brian

If you click on the button that says “Edit” next to the section where you want to add the video, then click into the text area and press enter (or return, to start a new line), you should see a plus button along the left show up. If you click on this + button, it will open up options for you to embed a photo or video.
I attached a couple more screenshots to show this.
    ——————–
    Paul to Audra & Brian
I have clicked on “Edit” next to every section, and in every text area, and pressed Enter, and have still not seen the plus button or the options image you refer to. I have attached five screen shots in which I have embedded numbers to show what I have clicked on.
On Landing page #1 screen, if I click on edit button #1 or anywhere else on this page, I get either the Landing page #4 screen which is about the background image, or the content area for the specific item the edit button is next to. Clicking further into any of these content areas does not bring up the options image you refer to.
It’s the same story on Landing page #2 screen, except when I click on area #6, I get Landing Page #5 screen, which is about changing from a one to a two column format.
Even when I click inside area #7, which is the “About Us” section, and press enter or return to start a new line, the options image does not appear (See Landing Page #6 screen).
Would it be possible to actually go into my specific landing page screens to test what you are telling me? Or better yet, set up a Skype or some other screen sharing session so you can guide me through in actual time on the actual site?
I see great promise in Mighty Networks. But I must say, I’m getting very frustrated by this step of setting up my landing page with a video.
    ——————————
    Audra to Paul & Brian,
Hmm. That is very odd! I’m looping in Brian Vu from our team on this thread, so that he can help you investigate further. Maybe if it makes sense, the two of you can set up a quick call today or a screenshare?
Thanks for sharing all the screenshots—super helpful for us to see what’s happening for you on that end.
    ——————————-
    Paul to Brian,
I have finished the video, and am ready to upload it to my landing page at mydeepbucketlist.com. I look forward to our screen sharing session to sort out how to install it.
By the way, I will not be available tomorrow morning (Friday, 12/14/2017). Possibly later in the day.
If we can do it soon this afternoon, please let me know, as I may be going out later today. Otherwise, it will need to be on the weekend, or next week.

Do you think it will appeal to my audience as specified in my Community Strategy?
Also, do you think I should end it after the first call to action, or does the second round of testimony add sufficient impact to justify the length?
