‘Wey aye’ @mars. More than likely! 😉 Thank you for your support in me staying true. Wow, so I know the most expensive doula in the UK!?! Very cool! I am no longer the most expensive hypnotherapist…I think I was a trail blazer who got burned up in her own trail! lol

Wow! Thanks so much @davidj this is brilliant! Can I ask…do you think I should incorporate the vaping issue with the marketing I have already created or perhaps create a separate video/sales page to those who come from the vaping side?

I definitely love the idea of yours about the disqualifying quiz! ( Back in the day of my Hypnotherapy practice I used to send out a questionnaire after having that initial phone call with them. There were quite a number of questions on there and within it i used to ask them why they wanted to stop smoking – with a paragraph type space for an answer – Those who put one word answers like money, health, family etc were rejected and their deposit returned. because I knew someone who really wanted to quit would find that emotional and want to say more)

What  I am wondering though, is whether I should include the disqualifying possibility in the video? …telling them then that only a few can make it on to the escape team? Hit them with the fear to get out of smoking…and the desperation to be part of the team all at once. Will that make them go through to the sale page more maybe?  Or maybe wait till they hit the sales page before I do that?

Also, should the questionnaire just be created as a standard email enquiry (if you know what I mean) But instead of telephone number boxes etc to fill in I ask them the questions that I need answers to, in order to qualify them? Or does anyone know of a specific widget/app that I can use for a questionnaire on a wordpress website?

Thanks so much for all this thought provoking help. It has been massively beneficial! It gives me more to do, and in a way, pushes me further from completing on time. certainly not in enough time to get a pre-sale. However, as Bradley said, you only get one chance to launch so I guess it’s better to get as much in there as I can before doing so.

    I could be wrong @saramccann , but I don’t think so lol

I’m sure with the courses you create, you’ll be top of the heap my darling. Looking forward to the launch. The fizz is hidden in the snow, waiting for us to hit the summit. C’mon lass. Thou’s got it! <excuse the terrible Northern accent. Not even sure which accent I’m going for>

Hey Sara, that was a huge, awesome, long reflection! I am thrilled at your mind dump. What you were saying about vaping could definitely be distilled into an article.

re: Pricing. I’m now not sold on my $97 suggestion. As you said, the higher price point weeds folks out and gives a higher perceived value. What does your own heart and gut tell you? Have you done the pricing exercise yet?

How to Price Something you Poured your Heart and Soul Into

Perhaps you do the $97 for your first 10-20 people to be beta testers and yo have specific agreements with them.

I thought your trailer did as you intended it was great.

I also say, don’t over think all this stuff. There are tons of people looking for ways to quit cigarrettes. Your trailer will resonate with some, not for others. Don’t over think it. It slows down progress. Once you get it launched, you’ll start to tweak, change and adapt things.

re: Mindtrix. It makes sense to keep if later you build more courses under the MindTrix brand, which I reckon you should. In 5 years from now you may have 20 MindTrix produced courses.

lol @mars! Thank you. Fizz – I am coming for you!! 😉

@bradleytmorris Thank you. I have looked at that pricing article before but I will take a look again now to see if I come up with any last minute inspiration about the right price.

I suppose my heart tells me £97 is too cheap…especially with £50 cash back reward. However, I do think you make a good point that this could just be a limited offer and I think I feel comfortable with that. This price is just a very special pre-launch price, won’t be there for long and will never be repeated kind of thing. That makes it feel ok. Thank you so much for your support on this.

@bobbiejo!!! There you are! So good to see you! And thank you for your kind words. Lol re Eminem, I have myself a monthly challenge playlist of songs. Songs for me to listen to that pull me up, push me forward and make me feel determined. That song of Eminem’s is on there,(Lose yourself)  Gewn Stefani – What you waiting for?, Little Mix – Power, etc etc. Songs just change everything in my head and mood so they have been a brilliant help – so yes, a little song lyric or two may have slipped in here from time to time! 😉

Ok guys. I am on a sleep deprived mission. It’s Halloween in the UK…I am running out of time…and if i don’t scare the S#@*T out of myself today (through the fear of putting this out there) I will definitely be scaring it out of anyone that sees me with my eyes like p-holes in the snow and my unwashed hair scraped back – Sara doesn’t need any halloween costume today thank you! 😉

I stayed up till 2.15 am last night and got the video re-done. You can see it here:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/01wrswgq9ba0r7c/take%20two%20complete.mp4?dl=0

I can see things in there I’m still not happy about. However, as I was saying to my buddy earlier, there’s a fine line between perfectionism and getting it right…I think any more adjustments now will be perfectionism. I do have one more scene I would like to add at the end that will make the video interactive and take them to the sales page. However, the software I have to do that has crashed and so unless I can get it fixed in the next few hours that idea will go out of the window! 😉

It is now 9am. I have been up since 6.40 getting kids to school etc etc. Now begins the race to finish the sales page and launch this.

I believe I have left it too late to spread around now in order to generate pre-sales but, it struck me last night that if I’m giving them this ‘apply to join’ questionnaire I can’t take money at that point. because I could end up having to refund them all if I turn them all down. So maybe I should just be aiming to get people applying for today? That takes a bit of pressure off about not having to set up the payment processor etc. I’ll see how it goes.

I will let you all know when it’s done and being shared!. See you soon and Happy Halloween! 🙂

    I LOVE that video!

I was also up until stupid o’clock last night. Fortunately mine don’t do halloween and there was no dress up for school either.

Thank you so much @mars!! I appreciate that. You have made my tired eyes smile.

To be fair, I only have one left who still likes to do the Halloween thing. She is dressing up as Nancy Wheeler from Stranger Things (to be fair she just looks normal aside from the bloody, nail studded baseball bat she has to carry!)

I’m pondering the idea of adding some smashing pumpkins to my playlist! 😉

LOVE the video as well! Tight and hits the right notes you were going for!

LOVE also your drive to do it right and abandon the endless detours of perfectionism…

LOVE also your wisdom to launch it in a way that is congruent with the process that is most healing and powerful, rather than following external pressures to do it a certain way or like how it should be…

The trailer is epic Sara. So well done. Where did you get those stock pics/videos from … you made great choices! The music was a good call too. Really matches the vibe you’re going for with this theme.

There are still 21 hours left to get an applicant and potentially a pre-sale.

Where is the landing page to apply? I’ll send it to a buddy who’s quitting smoking!

So happy for you and to see this course finally coming to life for you in the way you’re envisioning.

    Happy Halloween!

@mars – LOL – “stupid o’clock”  I’m going to steal that phrase for sure.

@saramccann – WOW.  I’m so impressed with the video and I can sense the vibe.  I’ve done a lot of reading about motivation, the difference between short-term and long-term.  I agree that the fear can work for the short-term, at least as long as it takes the person to sign up.  And I also agree that positive motivation is going to be the thing to carry your students through long-term.  I’ve been trying to incorporate something called “Implementation Intentions” into my patient education (and own daily life).  Another similar idea that research has proven to be effective is called “Mental Contrasting” and I’m still trying to wrap my brain around that strategy and how to use it.  Anyway, fear is great for what the Heath brothers call a “pebble in the shoe” problem.  It’s something painful now (in your case the pebble is smoking) that can be relieved by taking action (in your case this is signing up for the course).  It’s great for immediate action, but not good for quashing smoking in the long term.  That’s why I pledge to give up certain foods or categories of foods after watching certain movies or documentaries, and then a few months later I fall back into my same usual patterns.  Pebble in the shoe pain wears off over time.

Anyway, think about how much you’ve grown this month, how much closer you are to your launch and setting free this thing that you’ve been imagining and creating and crafting.  It sure is a lot of work, sitting here in this ditch and getting ready to pull yourself up and out.  It’s these difficult moments, though, that will really give you a sense of the amazing and courageous person that you can be.

Ok, I’m stamping my feet and demanding my comfort blankie!! What a day!

I got the sales page exactly as I wanted it – displaying with my chosen font and everything. Sat with the kids on their laptop to show them my efforts and it looked nothing like it did on my screen! Aaargh! A lot of head scratching and swearing followed. Eventually realising the plugin I had used to get the font I wanted (to match the video etc) was conflicting with Thrive.

So…disabled that and have had to go with a generic font. I know it’s wrong but perhaps others won’t!?

Tried to integrate mail chimp with my questionnaire but need my API key. Clicked on the API key in Mail Chimp to get it (simple right!) but Mail Chimp display a 404 page error for that link so I can’t get to my API and can’t set up my leads. Nor can I contact technical support on Mail Chimp because I don’t have a paid account with them – perhaps I’d like to upgrade they suggest? (more swearing!)

Eventually went over to WP forms. They managed to persuade me to upgrade so I could integrate MailChimp they said. So tired that I just gave in and did it to get it working…only to find that the version I upgraded to doesn’t actually come with Mail Chimp integration – I need to pay another $60 for that!!

    (yep, more swearing!)

I am the end of my abilities now….and my bank balance! I have stuck with WP forms simply because I don’t have the energy or time now to try another 10 or so form plugins. (already tried 5 before I got to that one) I don’t like the way the questionnaire displays but that too will take more time that I don’t have so my perfectionism has had to go completely out of the window! (maybe that’s a good thing and a lesson I needed to learn? Who knows!)

So…I  ‘think’ it’s as ready as I can get it at this late stage in the game. I can tweak it and amend when this challenge is over and I start marketing it etc. Unfortunately, the sensible part of the UK is now in bed (not all of us go to bed at stupid o’clock (lol @laurakoller – have you never heard of that saying!? We use it a lot – that and wine o’clock! 😉 ) so I very much doubt any efforts I try now to push it on my facebook etc will result in much but I accept my defeat graciously. I tried my very best and am really pleased with how much I achieved – perfect or not!

The sales page is at: http://www.escapefromnicotraz.com

and the youtube video is here:

Thank you all so very much for your love and support in helping me to get to this point.

Oh, and @bradleytmorris I would be so thrilled if you passed the above link to your friend!! Thank you so much! I hope the quality is good enough to win him over.

Phew guys – what a month! Huge well done to everyone!…I’m off to my bed! Night night all.
