Here is belated blog post #3: Confessions of a Fallen Superhero

This last post will explain my absence.  This was not the best two weeks for me to complete this challenge, but here I am and there it is.

@bradleytmorris – I resisted your advice about “short, succinct, and potent” and yet that was the right advice to follow.  I have to remember that having conviction and vision doesn’t mean I can’t take an impromptu side trip every now and again – especially when I’m juggling multiple things and have to prioritize GSD above all else.

As for the contact form page – there was some mumbo jumbo already on the contact page when I went to create it in WordPress  I have no plugins.  It’s really not a priority right now.  Sometimes those distractions take us away from the real work we are supposed to be doing – and right now that is the writing.  And sometime finding a new graphic for the site.  And who knows what else – the path will become visible in time.

The intended audience?  At the moment I was just thinking about people like me, who need a little push in the right direction along with the reassurance that it’s normal to feel uncomfortable when you’re daring to wear superhero clothing.  At the moment the writing is still pretty general, and that’s intentional.  This work originally came from pushing my own boundaries working in healthcare education, but working for a huge international healthcare organization I don’t want to invest my time and effort into course materials the company could later claim to be their own.  I’ve got big plans, big plans, you see.

By the way, I presented to a room of 30 coworkers today about the power of building habits to change behaviors.  I’m also scheduled to present on two RN Quality Education calls for my region next week, and two more next month.  I had two of those presentations to finalize last Thursday before leaving for a week of “vacation’ with the boys – just one more item in last week’s trainwreck.

I’ve been reading as much as I can and I appreciate all the feedback and suggestions and inspiration from all of you, my superhero sidekicks.  I would not be this far in the journey without the support from my fellow GEA adventurers.  What a crazy adventure this has been already.

Ah Laura. I am hugging you and telling you that I’m here and everything will be ok. You have such a beautiful talent of writing ‘to’ people – does that make sense? You don’t write ‘at’ them…I think there’s a huge difference! I love your honesty and openness and think it will touch the heart of many other busy Mum’s who read it and they will ‘get you’ so completely and entirely.

I think it’s perfect that you didn’t write the blog post you had intended, and that this crazy time that happened in your life actually brought out of you something very helpful and unique. You did amazingly well, keep going because you have something very special to offer! x

I look forward to seeing the improvements moving forward, with that advice in mind @laurakoller. Try it on, see how it works  😀
