Master ZenTeach,
Please could you bestow your limitless wisdom upon me and share how you helped Andy-san to choose between Learndash and Sensei for the LMS? The differences are subtle yet (I suspect) important and, as well as reading every comparison I can find online, I would like to know what made you choose what GEA went with. I’m not actually all that clear which one GEA uses: I thought it was LD but can see some references to Sensei in the code…
May your cloud ever be floaty…

Greetings Lisa-san.
GEA runs on LearnDash for two main reasons:
1. Learndash has more powerful features (better quizzes for examples)
2. Learndash is less expensive overall (Woo products get expensive quickly with all the expensive add-ons)
I’ve tried Sensei on another project, and for whatever reason it just didn’t feel like what I was looking for.
I’ve enjoyed working with LearnDash so far ๐
Hope that helps!

PS – My cloud is indeed nice and floaty
Thank you my wise teacher… This is most helpful!

Lisa, did Master ZenTeach help or do you have anymore questions to help you make the best choice possible?
Brad, Does anyone else hear an echo on this mountain? ๐
Yep. I got what I needed. I chose Learndash. Woot woot!
I just think Learndash’s strengths are what I need, and I like the idea of saving money. Plus, I just saw that they now have WooCommerce integration, which I know was a criticism levelled at them previously. I prefer the course hierarchy / structure, the support seems a little more user friendly, and the quizzes are, as Master ZenTeach says, more powerful.
I could have ummed and ahhed about it for longer. But I didn’t want to spend ages choosing. And really, tbh either would be fine. It’s subtleties we’re talking about here, not basic functionality, right?
I got the dummy data up and running, so am now going through, starting to customise, iron out wrinkles and writing a list of what I still need in terms of graphics etc. It’s great to look properly under the hood!

Wow, way to go Lisa. I’m so happy for you to be embracing the tech side. That is gonna make a huge difference in the end game. I can’t wait to see what you create.
Feel free to share screenshots or videos as you go, marking your progress and giving us all a peak under the hood.
So curious to see how things are coming together.
