I’ve been wanting to add to the marketing conversation for a while but could not find the words for it. So I will put it on video. It will give my take on how to market our stuff while being most helpful and authentic. It will also hold the key to motivating students to finish the courses. All you need to do is sprinkle a little of this all over your course and marketing. I have not actually tested it in real life so I’m working on a little promo to see if it actually works.

The script is done, and most of the video recorded. I’m doing some editing today, and maybe shoot the rest of the video.

    WOOHOO!  You did it Paulo!!!

I was surprised to see you in a business suit – very handsome.  And I loved meeting your son.  I assume that was your son!  I feel like I’m constantly juggling work vs. parenting and it was refreshing to me that you were able to pair the two together in a way that enhanced your message.   Perhaps I should stop fighting it, too.  It was fun to see you in a whole new light!!!

I appreciate your marketing philosophy, your focus on the possibilities, and your vision for achieving the lifestyle you desire.  I can also see the connection between the story you shared (that’s one piece that has lodged itself in my memory) and your own eCourse motivations.  I think there are some places in this video that you could be clearer about that connection or maybe share another story or more specific examples.  I noticed one section when you kayaked through a whole bunch of floating wood that could probably be edited out, too, in order to keep the flow going.  It is always mesmerizing to see you in the water in the midst of such beautiful scenery.  Ahhhhhhh.

You’ve given me some things to think about: the vision for my online business and how I can work towards that and market it to others, as well as how I can stretch my own video lessons to incorporate more risks and authenticity and theatrics.

Have you ever narrated a guided meditation while kayaking on the water?  You have SUCH a soothing voice and that scenery and the rhythm of the paddle in the water is just so incredible.  I think it’s better than anything you could do on a green screen.  If you haven’t tried it, that could be an incredible pairing that could appeal to kayakers (think of Bradley’s Inner Focus Golf) and/or landlubbers like me.  Just another thought…

    Congratulations!!!

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Loved it. The transformation from business suit to kayaking was lovely. As was the shock of your son firing missiles at you, and appearing as a mystic being. So much fun.</p>
I was walking across the park to a client’s house and your soothing voice, the water and the park, really set my day right

I love you on camera @Paulo. You have such a great presence. Way to create a fun, playful, inspiring video on marketing. My wife Celeste heard your voice in the video and she was like, “Who is that, I love his voice and vibe. He’s super authentic and trustworthy.”

So what we’re all saying here Paulo, is that we all think you’re awesome and need to start recording tons more videos and audios.

I love the idea on you guiding people’s meditations/visualizations. you have the voice for it (obviously)  LOL

A little trick for the little ‘cut shots’ like when you go “WHOA” when being shot is to go from close-up to long shot. Then you won’t be able to tell that there was a clip change. It just looks much smoother.

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Thanks so much @laurakoller. Not everyday someone calls me handsome. And thanks for the feedback. I was hesitating about removing the scene about going through the kelp without much going on. Good to have a second opinion about it. I have been playing around with hypnosis to teach some ideas. I should polish it up and get feedback from it. I had not considered recording it from the kayak. I will try it out. It does hurt the sound quality because I have to keep the mic at a distance to avoid getting it wet from the paddle. And there is always some background hum. Planes, boats, city noise. I will try it out though.</span>

    <span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Thanks @mars I’m happy to hear I had a place in making your day better. That’s so great!</span>

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>@bradleymorris thanks so much for the honor of the monthly crown. Interesting that I come across and authentic as I feel like I’m not quite there yet. I know what you mean about the long and short. I use it a lot when I’m on the kayak. I could have put more work into it but at some point I just decided it’s ok for now. I increased the wattage of my lights, but I can see that I still need more light. I think it’s hard to do with only 2 lights with the greenscreen. For those looking to buy a lighting kit I would recommend at least 3 lights. </span>

    <span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Thanks @bobbiejo</span>

Congratulations Paulo!   I loved your video and will definitely watch it a number of times so I can digest it better and get it at a body level not just a mind level.  I loved how we are part of a village and that our business is for the community/world and helping others in our community be better helpers in the world.  This really helped me and my resistance to marketing.  I loved being on the water and in nature listening and I enjoyed the beginning part.  I love your voice too.  This was so great!  Thank you!  I look forward to more of your wisdom.
