This is so beautiful Jennifer. I love the outline.

I could definitely see having a guided meditation for each of the exercises that are directing the women into themselves being incredibly helpful. Having done a lot of work with meditation and journaling, every exercise is so much more potent and embodied when opened with a guided meditation process.

There is gonna be a lot of very grateful mommas’ in this community you’re developing here!

    Hey Bradley,

So glad you love the outline and yes, totally, guided meditations for each exercise is in order. I even have a snowball mic that seems to work well. I am working on the next phase of development and writing it all out. It is taking some time. I can’t wait to keep moving forward! Huge breakthroughs for the mama’s yesterday during the live group <3

If I were you, I’d make each of those mini call to actions/lessons/steps an individual lesson. It’d be much shorter and to the point with ONE call to action.

We demonstrate this in the GEA. Each lesson is on one really specific topic with a clear CTA.

This prevents overwhelm and it makes it easy for someone to show up and do a lesson per day and feel like they’re making progress.

I think this is gonna be key with your audience.

Not sure your overall plan, but just wanted to share that   😀

Great outline. I’m excited for you!

    Hey Bradley,

    Thanks again for the encouragement.

I hear you and saw that I had more than one action step per lesson. I will totally chunk it down, to one action step per lesson! I see the value in this.

I had a great chat this week with my Buddy’s 🙂 and am eager to keep moving ahead.

    Cheers,

    Jennifer

    CREATING THEME

Please check out this art piece – https://www.evernote.com/l/AlzSR8EAHVhG-67raVNQS3z8-fx5ZIMf7W8

This was my creative mind map to help discover a metaphor and/or theme.  Lots of water showing up, and this idea of moving up and out, versus staying in deep waters and drowning – numb and disconnected.

One thing that came from this exercise is this idea of an intro video with cartoon figures and thought bubbles – where the mother is at and where she wants/needs/desires to go.

Also, there are three lines that presented – red for anger, yellow for power & will, and green for compassion.  All three of these energies/emotions propel the mother forward in her healing journey. The image of a collapsed mother at the start, to an expanded, exalted Strong mother.

I am still not 100% clear about the theme or metaphor I am going to use.

Some theme brain dump ideas …

    • Calm in the middle of the storm
    • Strong powerful woman figure
    • Water – calm water, storming waters, soothing healing waters, transformative waters, spiritual waters
    • Elements – Air, Fire, Water, Earth and how they pertain to the journey of healing
      • Fire – Anger and Will
      • Air – Mind and Reprogramming beliefs
      • Water – Grief and tears
      • Earth – Grounding foundation, establishing safety
    • Holistic stages of labor – Emotional Laboring
      • Embarkation
      • Entering the veil
      • Navigating the waters, riding the waves
      • The Summoning
      • The quietude
      • The breakers – pushing
      • The emergence – Birth
      • The Return – immediate postpartum
      • Acquaintance
      • Communion
      • Completion
      • Weaving the story
    • * Based upon Whapio’s Holistic Stages of Labor and adapted to be applied as a guiding metaphor for personal transformation

These are the metaphors/themes I am toying with

    CHOOSING A NAME

Since I already have a name for the program – Healing After Birth – I will keep it.

However, as a tag line I have been considering these options:

    • A Trauma Informed Healing Program for Mothers Who Were Negatively Impacted by Their Childbirth Experience and Who Desire to Feel Whole Again
    • It Is Never Too Late to Heal From a Past Childbirth Experience That Has Haunted You For Years or Months
    • An Online Program for Mothers Who Are Seeking Guidance and Support to Find Relief and Restoration From a Previous Traumatic or Dissatisfying Childbirth Experience… Years or Months Later.

    G’Day Jennifer,

Awesome job brainstorming the theme ideas. As far as your artistry or how you imagine yourself delivering the video content. What do you see? What would some simple, effective ways you could weave your potent theme into your lesson experiences. I think it’s important that your theme excites and inspires you, as well as makes sense to your audience.

It seems like the course is essentially a birthing process, where they are giving birth to themselves as a mother. You could do a heroines journey as well (theme idea). Are you familiar with the Heroe’s journey? You could create your own version.

Here’s the thing: your theme can be a remix of several different things that you love and that make sense.

The 5 elements could also be powerful to use. I like the way you’ve laid those out.

As for the name and tag lines. I love the name. It’s perfect. I think the tagline needs to be super duper short. Play around with, how can you in 5-8 words describe WHO you’re serving and WHAT the transformation is. That is your challenge. Those other names are a good start, but too wordy and long  🙂

    As for themes

    – what about adapting the gestation process from conception to birth they went through as their own healing process. Our birthing process takes place in fluid / water and could end with a water birth to add the element of water. You could group the 12 stages of Emotional Labouring into trimesters. I can see there being power in what they are trying heal becomes the source of their healing.

    – could there be a theme around navigating different bodies or flows of water. Could be a turbulent ocean back to a peaceful babbling brook. Maybe a Jacques Cousteau exploration of the ocean from the surface to the depths rarely seen but full of new forms of life. Or each step is represented by a specific type of water as your water theme mentioned above – waterfall, river, desert oasis, stream, cove, pond, ocean, tsunami, etc.

    – would there be value in suspending their current reality and taking them to far away places for a moment or two. What about a Bali retreat where they have a Tiki hut over the water, watching fish swim under the floor, the striking blue water surround them, etc as their setting. Or give them a passport to head out on a world tour of 12 healing locations around the world where each of the topics is addressed.

    – a play on the El Comino walk or West Coast Trail hike. Could be a paddling / camping journey where for the time they are focused on the course they are down to basics they need they an carry on their back/in a canoe, away from all the hubbub of daily life.

    Hello Lorraine WOWZERS so helpful!

    I love these suggestions:

‘Or give them a passport to head out on a world tour of 12 healing locations around the world where each of the topics is addressed.

    – a play on the El Comino walk or West Coast Trail hike. Could be a paddling / camping journey where for the time they are focused on the course they are down to basics they need they an carry on their back/in a canoe, away from all the hubbub of daily life.’

The birth metaphor seems obvious, and like I mentioned above I could weave the ‘holistic stages into the healing process’ which is something I do teach about.

And a part of me worries that if I use the metaphor of birth, they may have a negative association with it.

I like the idea of using nature, and some challenging terrain – like El Camino or West Coast Trail or a Mountain to climb. But I also, the ideas of using water and different types of waters to navigate in a paddling device/object.

And, there is a part of me that doesn’t want the ‘journey’ theme to take away from the depth of the work and come off as corny… it needs to fit.

I can imagine images of water, and different kinds of water. But I get how valuable it is to understand that there is terrain that needs to be traversed ahead, along this healing journey, and that there is an expectation that there is work that needs to be done and prepared for.

    THANK YOU AGAIN.

ps. I love the animation page, can’t wait to play around with it.

    Bradley,

I have commented below (or above) after Lorraine’s ideas were added. Let me know what you think?

They are birthing themselves anew, as a mother, true. I would like to combine themes, but I seem to freeze in this area.

Ya, I really like this too –

Elements – Air, Fire, Water, Earth and how they pertain to the journey of healing
    Fire – Anger and Will
Air – Mind and Reprogramming beliefs
    Water – Grief and tears
Earth – Grounding foundation, establishing safety

Spirit – Re-connecting to life force and new found self
