HA! I was totally going to do that next! And I definitely will at some point I am sure!! Thank you!
I just uploaded the free intro course for feedback in the Course Ideas & Outlines campfire (Free Walk in the Park)
After a call with Andy, I am working on my homework of filling in the: I help __ get from ___ to ___ with ___.
So far I’ve got: I help women experiencing stress and overwhelm find relief by regaining control of their life and their peace of mind through simple, effective techniques.
March 12, 2017 at 2:42 pm #35720So I’ve spent today transferring my free course into Teachable. I still have a little way to go with the learning curve, but am catching on as it has similarities to WPCourseware and WordPress that I’ve used some before.
I am EXCITED about it, as it helps with so many other things I’ve been overwhelmed by (payments and such). It takes a lot of ‘weight and worry off. It also makes me excited to eventually get to this ‘simplifying’ in place with my website eventually as well (learning more about the Thrive Themes or what Bradley and Andy suggest for there).
It’s a process… but WELL WORTH IT! Excited for the future, and enJOYing the now!
Oceans of Love & Gratitude for this mountain adventure and all I am learning and becoming because of it! Thank you Bradley, Andy and fellow climbers!
March 13, 2017 at 5:17 am #35724Awesome news. Glad you’re liking the shift over to Teachable. I think it’s gonna make a world of difference.
I was even thinking. Each of the lesson pages where your videos are embedded could have a different beach image embedded to give it a different feel and as though the person going through your course is actually out on a beach walk 🙂
March 13, 2017 at 10:29 am #35740Ooh! That sounds fun! I was just looking and not sure exactly how. I’m still a little rough around the edges learning it yet. Trying to figure out how to ‘preview’ the course before I click to publish. Excited to finally ‘get’ it and keep making things better and creating more! Loving this! THANK YOU!
March 13, 2017 at 3:09 pm #35758Bobbie Jo, this is all very exciting. I can’t wait to review and experience your meditation recording. I really like my ‘snowball’ mic. But I know the ‘Yeti’ is supposed to be even better.
High fives!
March 13, 2017 at 5:07 pm #35762Okay, I think I’ve got it up for eyes on Teachable. On the school homepage? I’m still learning. 🙂
March 13, 2017 at 7:51 pm #35771I just signed up and will cruise through it in the next day or so BJ. Already though, the registration page looks far clearner and easier. Look forward to checking it out. Keep playing and making improvements. The more you learn it, the better you can make it. Also, You may wanna reach out to Teachable’s customer support team for specific questions. They’re apparently awesome!
March 14, 2017 at 5:24 am #35793Just went through the new offering and it feels so much more professional. Everything about it is great. If you can play with design and adding in more images in the background to create this beach adventure GREAT, but not necessary.
I think at the end your invitation to do your free breath meditation should take them to your next Teachable course, rather than have them download at Kapa-kai.com. Keep it all up on Teachable so you can track how many finish your course, how many sign up for #2, etc…
March 14, 2017 at 7:19 am #35805Just an FYI, I was having trouble auto-entering my name to sign up for this course. (I have an iPhone). This can be an actual deterrent for me when I’m not especially motivated to opt in for something or I don’t have much time in that moment. I have a long name, lol. I don’t know if that’s something you could fix or it’s on teachable’s end, but thought I’d let you know 🙂
March 14, 2017 at 10:20 am #35819Wow! Thank you Bradley & Stephanie for signing up to give feedback. I GREATLY appreciate it! Stephanie, I’m guessing that’s on Teachable’s end… as far as I know. I’m very new to it. I’ll look into it more. Thank you!
Bradley, I’ll work on transferring the other free offering over to Teachable as well. Thank you!
March 14, 2017 at 12:10 pm #35826Quick Teachable Q here if you know: If I put my opt-in gift in Teachable as well, how do I grow my list? Or do I send them from my website to Teachable and then send their emails from Teachable to my mail? I don’t want to email people if they think they are just in the course, I’d rather them know they’d be getting emails too if they do.
Also, I know in Teachable it says the courses are available for life. Is that even if you discontinue using Teachable or decide you no longer want to offer the course?
March 14, 2017 at 4:43 pm #35834Okay, I transferred the ‘Breathe with the Sea and Be’ journey in Teachable as well, and linked it as a continuing free offering from Meditation Made Fun & Easy (as one, two, sea).
The perfectionist keeps seeing things to improve (and not wanting to show it until it’s perfect- which always stops me), the not-so-techie gets frustrated not knowing how to do things (especially combined with slow internet), and the creative is excited to make more journeys (the joy of creation!).
Going to get some rest and then continue learning, journaling, meditating, and gaining more clarity. Excited for it all to come together.
THANK YOU to all of you who have signed up to look things over. I appreciate it more than you know!!!
Oceans of Love & Gratitude!
March 14, 2017 at 7:00 pm #35838Hi BJ!
Here are some answers…
1. You can sync Teachable up to Mailchimp to build your email list. Everytime someone signs up for your free courses, they can get added to Mailchimp. Here’s an article on how to set that up.
If you decide to use ActiveCampaign which is what we use and recommend, here’s an article on how to set that up. there are a few more steps, but if you follow along you’ll get it.
2. Your courses are accessible for life, but if you put them on pause then nobody can go through them. Free courses are always there.
3. As for the perfectionist in you. Give yourself a date that you are going to be DONE and ready to share. Put all your energy into making it the best you possibly can before that. (and have fun doing it)
March 15, 2017 at 10:22 am #35848Thank you, Bradley! 😀
March 15, 2017 at 10:52 am #35850Bradley & Andy… are you guys going to offer a platform for everything someday? 😉
