2. What I Do (150 characters): I am a college prof. (mathematician). Lately, I’ve been teaching calculus of humanities majors. I’m also a writer, a reader, and a textile artist. I’m also a brain injury survivor (which helped improve my teaching skills).
3. Kind of eCourse I’m excited to make (150 characters): “Calculus for the Math-Wary.” I see it as a series of mini-courses, one for each topic. E.g. functions, limits, continuity, derivatives, etc. Maybe a freebee on the side about basic skills, and a cheer-leading bit about thought processes being complementary, etc.
4. What I am looking for in an Adventure Buddy (150 characters): Someone who’ll keep me on track but will be understanding when my health gets in the way (usually for a day or so, occasionally). Someone who’s comfortable telling their story and is a good listener.
5. If you really knew me, you’d know that(150 characters) … I’m pretty smart, have a wry sense of humor, tend to push myself hard. My passions are writing, reading and WARP (http://weavearealpeace.org/). I’m a recovering introvert. Most people have no clue that I’m shy, including my students.
