I am a bit confused about all the bits that link together to deliver a course and where they sit.
Which bit actually collects the emails?
I’ve heard that Wix isn’t too good with a cms/autoresponder system so I am confused. I thought I would embed the code for a landing page and then Convertkit would collect the emails, but then what about Teachable? I know they collect the student’s emails too, but does it all go into Convertkit?
@andyfreist I know you’re a wordpress guru but I’m hoping that you can enlighten me re: Wix. Or even wordpress….
PS – Or should I just forget Wix and move to Thrive? I’ve used wordpress for years but I can’t code and find it hard to customise themes. If Thrive is genuinely drag and drop and easy, then maybe I should do that instead?
1. Teachable is where you will host your course, and manage your memberships, shopping cart etc..
2. ConvertKit is what you will use to send emails to your members, and also to people who sign up to your list (potential students).
3. WordPress + Thrive is what you’ll use to create your landing pages, sales page, and genereal marketing pages.
I’d advise against using Wix, because you will get much more mileage out of WP+Thrive. In your case, you only need the Thrive Content Builder (not the full membership), because you will be simply using it to create beautiful landing pages and your sales page. The purchase button on your Thrive+WP sales page will link to your Teachable shopping cart.
Once someone is a student, youll use ConvertKit to keep in touch and guide people to their lessons.
Theres really no point in using Wix since your course will be hosted with Teachable and WP+Thrive is far more powerful and user-friendly for creating sales pages and marketing funnels 🙂

Does this help clarify?
That’s great @andyfreist
I appreciate you clarifying things. All these little interlocking bits are kind of confusing but of course they are there to make my life easier…
I will stick with wordpress and get Thrive.
Thanks for getting back to me so promptly.
You’re gonna have a blast with Thrive @pennyclaringbull. It’ll leave a lot of space for being creative. Can’t wait to see what you come up with 🙂
