DEANNA: That was an awesome first draft.

I love the questionnaire, the format, the end result (getting your title with a pic and a video). Super cool.

I think the questions and answers could be stronger. I suggest you create a new campfire, so we can flush this out there.

My feeling is that your questions need to really separate someone and point them in the most clear paths out of the four. Which means the answers need to really identify which of the four profiles they could be. Just a lil refinement I think.

Definitely onto something with this. Gonna be super cool. Check out some some other surveys like this to get even more inspiration. This is definitely worth whittling down. Great work. Love how quick you jumped on it.

LORRAINE: I just cruised through your site and eBooks. I loved the big writing and simplicity of the eBooks. For a scanner like me, it made it easy to go through and receive some actionable tips without investing a lot of time. That’s a great opt-in starter for folks. Have you received positive feedback so far?

Personally (as a scanner who wouldn’t be your client), I found your home page to have too much writing and too many lists. When I read what was there, there’s clearly a lot of time, energy and thought that’s gone into writing a love letter to the peopel arriving. But at first glance and when scanning, it didn’t feel clear as to why I was there.

I’m wondering if you could do more to ‘catch people’s attention’ a bit more to pull them into your world. Let them know the purpose of why you’re there.

At the same time, my guess is that your ideal client is a thoughtful, keen to read kind of person. They likely appreciate the thought that’s gone into your site and what you’ve wrote. My guess is they would happily take the time to read what is there.

So I guess the balance I’d seek is to challenge you to tighten up the words. To make your point form points shorter and more concise, to avoid any rambling or unnecessary sentences and to say what you want to say as clearly and succinct as you can.   🙂

Honestly, great job with this though. I can definitely feel your energy behind the words which is exactly what the people landing on your site will feel too.

If any of that is unclear, let me know.

Super appreciate having such a thorough look see @bradleytmorris.

Honestly, I haven’t really promoted my freebies so don’t have wide reaching feedback. When I sent copies for review to those who provided the initial direction, there were positive comments.

Finding the right balance for the home page is tough. I followed the flow of a page I really liked. I thought I was being short. LOL Speaking of which, I’ve had feedback to add a video to the front page … from those who don’t like to read and were more visual / auditory learners. That is the question … how do you cover all the bases. On the upside, what I really took as a positive was you mentioning “my guess is that your ideal client is a thoughtful, keen to read kind of person. They likely appreciate the thought that’s gone into your site and what you’ve wrote. My guess is they would happily take the time to read what is there.” That would actually be a key filter. If someone wasn’t willing to spend a few minutes reading then working with me wouldn’t be a good fit.

That said, I will be looking at my homepage and website again so will definitely keep tightening up in mind. Tweak and test, tweak and test.

LORAINNE: I LOVE the name of your business and your header image!! I really enjoyed your about page (I can relate to being one of those that ‘didn’t know’), and some of your ‘rapid fire’ answers made me laugh! Can really feel your personality come through. It is awesome!! Love how easy to read your opt ins are and how packed with value they are as well. They are in beautiful bite size pieces for people which is great! It’s really cool that you have them available without the email for anyone first too, knowing those who want more will sign up! I don’t see that often, and I could really feel that love energy of truth and serving and trust. Just beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing!!

Many thanks Bobbie Jo @kapakai8gmail-com for having a look and your feedback. Super happy you find the freebies valuable. So hard to gauge what will connect as meaningful without treading into overwhelm.

I felt I had to offer a true freebie to walk the talk. I am so tired of the games opt-ins play and calling them such things as “ethical bribes”. It may be a slower path to building a list, but at least I know people are feeling a connection of some sort. Have to sheepishly admit how good it feels to be on somebody’s “must read” list. That’s a huge accomplishment these days with all the noise.

Yes, you provided huge insight for me here, as have Bradley & Andy. I tend to put a lot together and it can be overwhelming. I love this ‘bite size’ information with transformation! This made me see that very clearly! Less IS more! Especially with opt-ins. I had an ebook for a while with 17 things. You showed me how 3 is SO much better to start! Much more doable and digestible! Great job!!

Yes that is, and you’re an inspiration in that as well! I agree. I’d rather have people want to receive my emails than see them as ‘litter on their beach.’ (My ocean talk for spam in their inbox.)
