Week 5:
February 24-27, 2018
Finished the rest of my lesson plans for my course and for the February Challenge. This was a productive activity as what made sense at a high-level didn’t when I got to writing down the transformations of each lesson and the high-level bullets of what would go into each video. I reduced the number of modules from 11 to 8 and reduced the number of individual lessons from 39 to 33.
March 2, 2018 at 8:40 pm #70018Nice work on refining the vision and breaking it down. For the shortest month of the year, you powered through and got a ton done. Way to go @Stavido.
The next challenge will be announced early next week… but I’ll give you a hint. You better start script-writing and storyboarding your lessons 😉

Between my heavy workload in my day job and getting my lessons outlined in time for the February Challenge, Took a few days off from GEA.
Week 6:
March 1-2, 2018
Starting back on working on setting up my platform. I have most of the Social Learner pieces setup, but there are a few minor bits still to tweak. Still not sure about myCred and setting up my own currency and getting points working. It would be nice if there were more videos on this. I hate reading through text guides to learn this stuff.
Brad has hinted at the next challenge this month being about scripting and storyboarding so I will likely start on that this week as well.

Have you try to search for “YouTube” and the “plugin name” you need?
March 6, 2018 at 3:17 pm #70266Just caught up on your thread. Love the Superhero imaging! Not sure if you are still looking for ideas/theme breakouts but the 2 that popped into my head were the Sweepers from the Olympic Curling competition and a reference to an old (but awesome) Steely Dan song, FM (“no static at alllllll.”)

@thevinodiva, thanks for the feedback. Steely Dan, now that brings back old memories of that song playing.

Day job taking up all my time, but I am thinking about the March Challenge and wondering if I could pull that off. 33 Lessons is a lot to script out in the next 23 days. Need to do this regardless of the challenge, but it is still a lot. I also need to work out my exercises for Learning Lab.
March 7, 2018 at 6:52 pm #70522@Stavido, if it’s any encouragement, a “Quick and Dirty Script” for each is acceptable. I’d say, go for the FIRST DRAFT as the goal, rather than the refined, finely polished version 😉
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
March 8, 2018 at 2:00 am #70547Thanks @bradleytmorris, that is more do able. Also, you mentioned having a script “word-for-word”, but I rarely do that as I would be very stiff in those videos. Rather, I bullet out the main speaking points, and speak to those. It produces a much more natural and authentic presentation. But then hey, I’m an extrovert and we talk to think. 🙂
On a separate note, I just gained access to a super ninja audio repair tool, so I am pumped about including it as an advanced option for my course. And it looks really cool visually.

March 10, 2018
First day of week 7, the time has flown by, but I have accomplished a lot. Hunkering down to work on scripting this morning.
Finished scripting Lesson 1, only 32 more to go for the March Challenge, and more importantly towards getting to launch summit.
- Done with Lesson 2 (came up with the character I’ll use, as well as what the background will look like)
- Done with Lessons 3-5 (new character) yeah, I’m done with Module 1.
- Done with Module 2 Lessons 1-3.
- Done with Module 3 Lessons 1-3. I have not completed (11 of 33) lessons – 33%.
March 12-15, 2018
Down for the count with a nasty virus. Hope to get back to scripting this weekend.

March 17-18, 2018
First day of week 8. Feeling almost human today as I start back on on scripting.
- Done with Module 8 Lessons 1-4. Combined Lesson 5 with Lesson for, so I now have 32 Lessons. (46% complete with scripting)
- Done with Module 7 Lesson 1, 3-5. (59% complete with scripting) I have a great character for this Module.
- Done with Module 6 Lesson 3 (62% complete with scripting)
March 19-20, 2018
- Done with Module 4 Lesson 3-4 (69% complete with scripting)
March 21, 2018
- Done with Module 4 Lesson 1 (72% complete with scripting) – only 9 lessons to go.
March 22, 2018
- Done with Module 4 Lesson 2 (75% complete with scripting)
- Done with Module 7 Lesson 2 (78% complete with scripting) – two modules left to script.
March 24, 2018 at 9:24 am #71625Week 9
March 24, 2018
First day of week 9. Hoping to finish up scripting today. Not that it won’t require tweaking as I refine the lessons.
- AM: Done with Module 6 Lessons 1-3. (84% complete with scripting) This only leaves Module 5 Lessons 1-5
- PM: Module 5 (Consolidated the 5 lessons down to 3 – now have 30 Lessons total in course)
March 24, 2018 at 10:12 am #71630Well done @stavido I’ve had a mad busy week so haven’t gotten much done, and I operate a no work Sunday rule, so I’m going to be busy next week to get it all done in time.
March 24, 2018 at 10:20 am #71632@mars, I understand completely. The promotion I got a couple of weeks ago in my day job means a lot more work, so I am hustling today to get the last lessons scripted. I’m down to the hardest module, but I am hoping I can crank it out today. Next weekend will be taken up with Good Friday and Easter – I’m singing in a 600 person choir which will take up all next weekend, so I have to finish before then.
