    Hey guys,

I have submitted the first two posts I planned in this challenge and will update you with publish dates as they happen but, since they are both going to other sites, I don’t have the publish dates as yet. The two suggested titles submitted are:

Is Your eCourse Just an Online Bookstore?

    and

Time to Finally Get Serious About Social? which will be published on GrowMap along with a Social Media Marketing Checklist for readers to download. And, the site owner requested a part 2 to discuss the Checklist on a deeper level after people have a chance to look at the Outline and work to complete it for use in their digital business. To really make me nervous, the owner of GrowMap informs me that my last post on the GrowMap site has been the most shared over the last year and also tells me it was linked to from the word “engagement” in this Huffington Post article.

So, whoa! And no pressure for this next one, huh? Oh, my goodness…I’ll definitely put the link up when the article goes live and will be begging you guys to share it on any social channel you have. Don’t know if I can do as well twice for her but, I sure want to try…I think the new post is quality, (fingers-crossed) but who knows when people share things!! Whew, the pressure’s on:)

Both of these posts are pretty big assignments so, I’ve completed a lot of writing already. Still, I’m trying to have a new post up on my blog by the end of the holiday weekend. I’m not doing very well on my feline post (hopefully for Lorraine) and may not make it to a satisfactory level to share by challenge end, but I’d like to write this one…it’s been in my heart and mind for a little while now…

To make the 5 assignment blog challenge, I may try to add two posts to the BizShops site as I NEED, and want, to do this and may be able to pull it off in time to sneak through the challenge. (Because business writing comes easier to me than finishing what I want for my kitty post.)

Also, I shared this post the other day but truly find it exciting to see myself quoted right there with people I respect, learned from, linked to, and even know a little in some cases so, this feels to me like a small win and made me a little thrilled on the inside, I suppose you can say…

In other good news and updates, I had a HUGE breakthrough in developing my course theme and outline to make it a richer student experience by gamifying not only the course’s user interface but, also by creating activities through experiences to tie into a rewards and course progress scheme. I’m also thinking about and trying to create a mascot-like character or mascot collection, maybe, for another source of bling (rewards) for course activity/progress. I’m one of those kinds of creators who like to let things swish around in my head a minute before going to paper or even brainstorming ideas in writing. This big little gust in Outline form, more or less, came out at an amazing flow after a longer than usual in mind percolating time. So, I’m a tad to the ecstatic side and continue to jot more ideas all day now that something’s down but, I’m relieved too.

I was feeling a little stuck on making the moving parts actually move and work in an original and imaginative way. This course adventure, in case I haven’t proclaimed it so, will be a “Vision Quest.”

I am sure on this vision now for my first eCourse mountain launch. I’ve also written first draft copy for the first 3 onboarding emails for those who sign up for the “interested in Blog Hog course” list I plan to begin building asap. And, have final edits completed for a SlideShare and a Video Animation to kick off course promotion, to start collecting emails via CTA’s, and to use in pre-sales and Sales Page applications as I go.

This is longer than I planned. Gotta get back to writing or I’ll never make it…

Happy weekend, everybody, and hope all is well and flowing for you!!

This is wonderful momentum Sue-Ann. I used to submit a lot of Artie’s to sites as well. It’s a great way for ppl to grow a following who don’t have one. Well done.

Perhaps you can share your secrets on how to get published on other websites in a thread 😉

great work with this challenge. Keep going!

Sue-Ann – I swear my head spins whenever you update your progress!  I’m so impressed by everything that you have on your plate right now.  Just keep going with it in whichever direction the wind takes you.  Keep up the good work!

@lauraKoller I’m so excited about your Outer Space Party plan from the coaching call which seems a super way to engage and get your mojo! I have a fun idea for you but, it’s getting late here and I’m kind of running so I’ll get back with more.

I’m reporting on my Challenge Update or finish line details.

First, I had a surprise today to learn that one of my submissions (mentioned in the last update) was suddenly moved up and published just a short while ago:

Time to Finally Get Serious About Social?

As you remember, I appreciate any social shares please on it, if you think worthy of course, as the pressure is truly on.

So, here the another post, just completed and published on my blog for the challenge:

Tune Up Your Visual Voice for Sparkling Web Design

And here is as far as I got with an idea to offer to Lorraine at some point…I’ll just copy/spill it here…

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>She’s a quiet type and when I first met her, I don’t even know if she noticed me at all.  </span>

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>She was busy helping someone else, you see. Keeping her warm, sharing food and water, playing together, sunning and bathing. </span>

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Besides how quiet she is, she easily blends into the shadows as well, dressed in dark shiny black fur. Sometimes at night, she’s barely visible melting into the darkness like part of the silent, peering, background. </span>

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Once she’s made your acquaintance—no matter who you are—she instantly loves you and wants you to love her, too. Her persuasion begins and ends quietly, gently.</span>

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>You are drawn to love her. Slowly. Surely. </span>

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Immediately or eventually, she’ll win you over because her silent love-filled heart always shines, everywhere she goes. </span>

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Whether you notice her dark, quiet essence nearby or not, sooner or later she draws you in. Love is all she’s about. </span>

Well, that’s it so far. I hoped to share a page or two on the new BizShops site but, I’m not ready though I did more writing and editing there. Also, have to get on Part 2 for the GrowMap post. ouch. Waiting to hear if the other submission will get published…fingers-crossed…

More tomorrow as I’m slightly beat up today. I’m within an inch of finishing my Intro Video to publish but, lost a whole day of footage because in editing, an extra light was mucking things up and I couldn’t do green screens I wanted and had weird forehead marks. re-shot today and may still try to edit late night.

    Gotta run…

Way to go on the new blogs @sue-ann. I like your use of imagery, mixed with text, bolds, etc.. The social media post you did was great for a scanner like me to get a lot of great info in a short cruise through the article. Love that you’re also approaching other places to get your work out to more people.

Curious if you have ever publisedh on Medium before?

Fizzle just did an episode on using Medium and i”m just curious if any bloggers form the mountain have tried it.

Curious what your top takeways or epiphanies have been in this 2-week blog away the fog challenge?

Congratulations on getting that submission moved up and published! So proud of you @Sue-Ann!

I read them all, shared and commented. Hope it helps! They were well written, informative pieces so well deserved! To get that done when being so busy with everything else is a great achievement.

Oh, and also loved your little blog hog video animation. So fun! Can I ask what you used to create that?

    @saramccann,

You are so awesome to check my stuff out, share, etc.

I used Animatron which I picked up on a super great deal with AppSumo, so I don’t know how much it actually costs but, it is super easy. I think it was a lot easier than when I first started using Camtasia…

I also just learned how to add a “card” to the end of the video on YouTube so you can insert a CTA link directly from your video. This turns out to be easier than expected so anyone who doesn’t know about using a “card” like me, may want to check it out. The card on this animation is my first pre-sales list building piece for my course Quest, too:)

I want to do more with animation but, just haven’t had much time, lately.

    @lauraKoller

My note on that last update to you was for the other Laura…sorry for the mixup and thanks for the support, too:) I’m kind of excited because, my Social Media guest post, above, reached about 175 shares in a couple of days and got nice comments, too! But, how about this surprise feather in the cap, the post was included in this Awesomesauce Roundup, too! Wow and yay:)

Well, mountaineers, I have soooooooooooooooooooo much work to do and can’t wait to get to it so, I’m still putting off my progress log update for now. Just think what a whopper it will be when I get to it! lol

    Thanks for everything, folks.

    Bradley:

I’m on Medium but really haven’t “worked it” at all and, in fact, read and research via medium more than write there, so far. But, lots of people have made a huge success by “working it” from what I gather. Even Jon Morrow is suggesting it, now; he says definitely use it, especially if you are new to blogging…as a starting point, even before having your own site.

Oh and @bradleytmorris…see the answer to “Medium” above, above…

And, I forgot to answer you on the biggest takeaways from the blog out of the fog challenge:

The first lesson is the reminder of how important your blog is as the content hub for your online business and also, it’s easy to slip off your things-to-do list but, really should be a priority for building your online presence and growing your business.

Second, I realized (or maybe remembered) that I work well on deadline. Maybe I need to try to make myself blog on more of a set schedule or, at least, set deadlines for myself for more consistent publishing on my own site.

Thanks for helping to clear the fog with this challenge!

Well done with all of the shares on your blog that you posted! Just think, with that schedule you’re talking about and posting a couple blogs per week, just think that where your reach will be in a year from now or two years from now? That is the key to your success is consistency. So often in this online business thing everybody wants immediate success  and thousands of followers, but the key is just showing up day in and day out and doing our work. The more value in the world to provide, the more people who will be excited to follow your every post. Keep up the great work and consistency  Sue-Ann.

@laurakoller I love your crown! Congrats!! I really enjoyed the simplicity and yet strong messaging in your first flings with video. I’m going to try a little of your ingenuity on my next attempts, I think:)) Great job and keep on Super Powering Up!
