Hi Anneke, nice to meet you.June 28, 2016 at 1:20 pm #26373
Hello Anneke, nice to meet you … Welcome … MarjetkaJune 28, 2016 at 1:57 pm #26380
I’m sure you have played with VideoScribe.tv, which I’ve used to create a number of “animations” in the past. Now I’m looking at using full-blown animation tools like Toon Boom to build out my GEA inspired course.
Look forward to chatting teaching and tools with you!June 28, 2016 at 2:28 pm #26386
Great to meet you Anneka @lachbeer!
I love the paintings and brushes in the background of your video, looks like a wonderful creative space 🙂 I’m a painter but I am very interested in learning more graphics and animation, and it seems like the field is really taking off.
Your students will benefit so much from getting to connect with you, how wonderful that you are upgrading the experience for them.
Have fun on the adventure!June 28, 2016 at 9:31 pm #26501
Great video!! Glad to see you on the mountain with us!! I learned a lot from just your short intro video. Looking forward to seeing more from you!! @lachbeerJune 28, 2016 at 10:37 pm #26508June 28, 2016 at 10:41 pm #26510
@waynebuckhanan VideoScribe is my favorite software( in combination with the best drawings I know of: Doodle Labs!) Wow, Toon Boom. I would love to hear more of your experiences with that software, and how you are going to use it in your eCourse. What is the course about? And yes, let’s chat!June 28, 2016 at 10:44 pm #26512
@jescantonelli Thank you Jessica. The paintings are of a series of about 80 pigs portraits that I made a few years ago. Looking forward to speaking to you more!June 28, 2016 at 10:46 pm #26514
@rodolfomenjivar, thank you! Even if I have done it a lot of times, it is still scary. Looking forward to more conversation!June 28, 2016 at 11:25 pm #26524
Anneke, thanks for the mention of Doodle Labs — that looks like a great set of drawings!
I will let you know what I find on Toon Boom as I dig into it. One of the other guys just starting up the mountain, @elijah Powell, has used Toon Boom professionally and I’m hoping to learn what I can from him as I decide how deeply I want to dive into the software and how much I want to hire out.
The course I’m working on at the moment is about the mindset of selling and the theme has evolved out of a space camp idea into the “Inner Space Academy” (preparing people for adventures in inner space rather than outer space). I have story beats mapped out that parallel and model the content I’ll cover. The idea is to animate the story beats and then have my “floating head” on a screen for any of the direct teaching segments.
I’m exploring “cut out” style animation options while I finish the content outlines and start to turn the story beats into a full blown screenplay. I never would have guessed I’d be building all this out when I started, but I’m enjoying the ride since screenwriting and animation were on my list of “some day, maybe” skills to develop!
I look forward to chatting when our schedules align. (I have people across the globe that I talk with regularly, so I understand the scheduling issues between Europe and US Pacific time…at least we won’t have to also include anyone from Oceania like so many of my conference calls do these days!)June 28, 2016 at 11:39 pm #26530
Here is is before breakfast, and you are nearly in bed?
Very much looking forward to more contact, and how you are going to use animation in your course.
About cut out animations, You know Commom Craft, right?
You know that GoAnimate had the whole cut-out library of Common Craft cut outs as an add-on?
Speak soon! Anneke

Greetings, Anneke @lachbeer
I recognized your name from a Udemy course that I recently purchased- and confess to not yet taking. ;-0
I too am a 66 y/o life long learner and doer of new things. I think that with your vast skills and experience you will be able to zoom up this mountain. I’m going to be watching you and seems like I should be actually DOING some of your animation courses.
Welcome to the GEA!
