@catherine_wildfox, I love the Monty Python analogy. Perfect! Have built and fallen into the swamp so many times. Even though I finally, finally feel myself getting some traction–solid foundation–the swamp still threatens to encroach. I’m realizing that for me, all of those previous building efforts were necessary and will make an excellent foundation. The swamp itself is not only dangerous, but also Mystical and powerful and beautiful in its own right. My efforts here, on this mountain and in my swamp have been extraordinary revealing of where my boundaries are, what limits me, why the sinking into oblivion of past builds. Almost 100% of my quicksand and quagmire is about fear. Buried deep. Finally visible. I am finally asking myself whenever I pull back or hear myself belittle or question my efforts/abilities, would I do _______ if I weren’t afraid? If the answer is “Yes!”, then I know what to do. Any other answer points to other questions.

Anyhow, you have a wonderful way about you and I know that when the time to take another step is right, you will know it, and know what step to take next, and that step will be solid and right and true. And you will step on that and know about the next one. And if it sinks, you will know it was still the right thing to do, it is just how foundation gets laid in a place that is actually helping us learn to sing our soul song.
And be able to give the world the strongest castle in England.

Oh no! I cliekd on a star but it seems @sharyn ‘s post deleted?? how do I get it back! I only just read it.
I do think that if you build ENOUGH failed castles eventually the swamp has enough charred rubble on it that you can have a solid foundation. I like the idea of “failures” becoming “foundations” 🙂

@catherinewild_fox I apologize for the previous crazy message! I thought I had found my reply and copied it, but when I pasted, it was of a previous message I had copied to send to a web designer for a quote. I hit “submit” below and then realized the wrong message had pasted, but it wouldn’t delete either. Sometimes this program is real glitchy. So sorry!

    Progress Log 7 or something

Ok, the sheer enthusiasm and awesomeness from Andy and Bradley just tipped me over the edge into coming back here even though i’m still in a rather bewildered world of questions right now and havent’ got much further on the ecourse ideas.

BUT I’m seeing how well this form of experience works. The community is an amazing draw to return. And the sheer presence of the main teachers showing up and encouraging and inspiring. They didn’t just SELL the course, they are here IN it, and you can see them being effected by it all too. Quite something. The gamification currency part is BRILLIANT because it gives the small part of my mind an excuse to come and spend time here — to rack up points and feel like I’m accomplishing/doing something. It’s a trick but it’s a good one! Definitely works for me.

I was reassured to hear they are working on a platform of awesome we can use. This frees me up to think about content etc. Luma and I have decided we WILL start filming something next week just for fun and practice.

    – I still want to do something with alchemy and magic
    – I maybe want my course to be part of a set of other related courses, like one big magic school where I only need to do a piece#
    – I’m asking what the “walk in a park” and smaller options would be for my ideas
    – I’ve worked out I want to sell to people’s big selves, through encouragement and fun, not fear and lack. Just stating that is a bit trembly, because the old rules say that;s the only way to sell things. But I’m so done with that.

Clearing time in my life to refocus on this all again. Feels NICE to come back and be welcomed back. This is key too – how to create something that people can return to happily.

Sooooo wonderful to have you back around the fire with us @catherine_wildfox! We missed you!!

I love that you and @Luma are gonna have some fun making videos together. That is wonderful. I say, just have fun with it. See what comes out.

YES – definitely starting with a Wlak in the Park (maybe a day trek) and grow from there. This’ll give you plenty of experience.

High fiving you for your commitment to be encouraging and real. Your true tribe will find you and thank you for not selling out 🙂

We are here around the campfire handing out bajillions left, right and center if you wanna have an idea jam about your course possibilities.

    Keep it simple.
    Keep it clear.
    Keep it true.
    Keep it authentic.

Oh ya, and keep it fun 🙂

PS – thanks for all the kind things you said about your eCourse Adventure Guides. We’re definitely in the trenches with ya’ll!! And guess what, when we’re done this course, we’ll be moving on to our next ones. This is an addiction and a damn good one at that!@

    Hi there Catherine!

I totally agree with the welcome and feeling good about coming back. I’ve been off on other tangents too, with my dragon course being parked while I do one on buying a house(!) Kind of a big change….but I felt I had to share all the stuff I’ve learned before I forget it all and move on. So I’m struggling with the divide between my practical self vs. my fun fantasy-creating self. A life-long battle that I’m a bit sick of but learning to live with coz it’s just the way I am.

As for focusing on fun rather than lack, inspiration is a powerful motivator and people seek things out for multiple reasons, including wishing to be lost in wonder, or taken to another world, or to explore possibilities and alternate realities. I love reading because I get to live so many other lives and ‘do’ things I’d never be able to do in this lifetime, if at all. So an alchemical, magical ecourse would be marvellous. Just wave your magic wand and do a little bit, then a little bit more….happy spelling!

I’m also starting to view the Ecourse as it’s own thing, that requires love and care to grow.

Wow. I’m really resonating with this. Isn’t it weird how something that starts as an inkling of an idea becomes it’s own force that is not just it’s own entity, but something with its own needs that you have to meet, something that needs loving attention? I’m sure it was in one of the videos where @Andyfriest said something about a course becoming its own force. Now I feel like my course is something that has chosen me to write it, to give it form. And I’m not entirely sure when that shift happened. So weird. So cool!

    Loving reading your progress lady!

    🙂

    @lisa.russell… IT’S ALIVE!!!!!!

Just you wait. Now you’re going to find yourself communicating to the Spirit of this eCourse.

I know that’s been the case for @andyfreist and I.

Praying to the UCSE 5000 for guidance.

    Progress log 8

The amount of personal transformation going on is amazing. I’ve been proud to put out my WildSelf idea and have genuine and encouraging response. Since the webinar yesterday I’ve been thinking about something Bradley said about commiting to it for a year. Can I permit this commitment? A big shift for me is this idea of my “business” being it’s own entity, something to nourish, feed and love.  It’s taken a while for me to get past transactional I do X and get Y back model of working to this bigger vision. I like it!

Part of how I’m doing this is doodling and drawing the “Wild Self Rehabilitation Centre” – what does it look like as an external thing? and how to my skills fit into that.

I’ve also been drawing pictures of the WildSelf — will upload later today hopefully (where is best place to do that)

I’ve gotten over a technical hitch — I made videos on my laptop but it turns out the microphone and sound card is PANTS. However Jeff has a new samsung phone that does some great quality videos, it’s so detailed you can see my beard hairs (which has inspired me to do a series of videos called “authentic share” or “truth speak” or something, one of them will be about my journey being a woman with facial hair and what i did about that.)

I need to find and  get one of those gorilla tripods and then get my intro vid and stuff up asap!

    Progress log 9

This next week, other than writing and consolidating ideas I’m going to learn how to use Anime studio pro – I have 10 days free trial on Safari books, and a teach yourself the software videos. I’ve been meaning to learn this for the last 2 years so finally going to get round to it. Animation, storytelling, comics, are going to be part of the ecourse because I find them fun to create. I can combine animations into Video footage too, so looking forward to experimenting with that one…..

testing an animation embedding does this work

FANTASTIC COMMITMENT Catherine. I am stoked that you’re just gonna dive in and learn this new skill. I think it’s gonna add so much value and magic to what you are doing.

Can’t wait to see how you put it to work in your course once you’ve figured it all out.

Share with us your progress and tests as you go. Would love to see   😀

    You asked for it!

and then this one on repeat makes me laugh so hard tears came out. I put a photo of Jeff’s ex-wife on there (who has been pretty awful) and it was really therapeutic, if childish. Anyway it’s cool to add photos on to things and animate them!

(ok so Jeff thought having that publically online wasn’t a great idea so I removed it…)

    HAHAHHA!!! That is hilarious Catherine.

You are catching on fast to this animation stuff.

    Clearly having fun too, eh?

Tell Jeff we miss him and would love his presence, ideas and creativity around the campfire again!
